Credit goes to the link that was posted in this thread earlier...I have these filters with IE. just copy the vales after : in the appropiate text boxes only, leave others blank. Do not change Byte limit

Filter Name : Filter5

Keep them in sequence and then in IE set Tools--->connections-->LAN settings--> check the box that says Use a proxy server..... and in Address put 127.0.0.1 and port 8080

I did exactly that but for some reason it doesn't add it to the cart...it'll show up as Target price found added to cart I press ok and then it throws me to the cart page saying you have no items in your cart...

Someone help me out if possible I think I'm so close now...yet I have no clue why it isn't actually adding the stuff to my cart yet everything else seems to be perfect, thanks in advance.

I noticed most of these 8400's don't list an ethernet card. Do they have one integrated or will I have to buy one?

So are there just no more low 300's deals anymore on the 8400 systems or are they being grabbed up by the pro resellers ?.
I keep looking for a low 300 system and just am not seeing them.

Yes, they have integrated ethernet cards. At least mine did anyway.

Yes, both 4700 and 8400 models have integ ethernet.

Does the Dimension 8400 support both regular DDR and DDR2? Because 2 out of the 3 system I bought use DDR yet when I check the 8400 user guide it only mentions DDR2 400 DDR2 533 modules. Calling Dell was no help someone in India just recited to me what was already on my order.

You'd think Dell would price their systems off of a formula, nearly eliminating any of these arbitrate opportunites. It's in their interests to sell these systems for as much as the market will bear; I'm very surprised they are letting some of these go for below market price. There must be some reason.

No, it only support DDR2 as asked and answered several times already. The 8400 has 4 240 pin DIMM slots.

Cost of inventory. That's why they blow them out with discounts at the end of their financial quarters. If you look at the total number of Dimensions available in the outlet inventory and multiply it by an average system cost then you are well over 1 million dollars. If you add up all of their outlet inventory you are talking big bucks for systems sitting in their warehouse waiting to be sold.

Somebody in another Dell outlet thread said that as the systems age in inventory the selling price is automaticaly dropped lower. This may be why we see the lower priced systems come in on the regular drop.

UGH I just saw a 319 on the last drop but wasn't quick enough....... this is becoming more of a challenge then anything now.

are you guys only checking out 8400 systems? many nice XPS prices. but then nice i mean 1000+. but i got some dual raptors, 2G or 4G, and radeon x850 in them.

i dont bother with 8400 anymore. i cant beat the scripters

PXC thanks for the info. i finally believe the reasoning now. They list some 8400s with DDR@400. if all MBO have 240 pins then i cant be so. i just hope this is true for the 500 series boards too.

There is only one motherboard for the 8400, whether it has a 500 or 600 series CPU. 😛

925x chipset, 4 DDR2 memory slots, etc.

I hope that you are getting the message that some systems were found. If you are but the items are not added to the cart then you need to look at the Filter2 again. Your sytems are not getting a checked mark next to them.

Filter2 puts a check mark on all the system on the page.

You must this in Bounds Match :
<(input)*>

You must this in Matching Expression:

\1type="checkbox"\2

You must this in Replacement Text :

\1type="checkbox" CHECKED\2

Plan on ~ $1800+.

I'm just curious, I have a Matrox Millennium G550 Dual Display. I don't do any gaming at all and I don't care for 3D animation, I know this card has the best 2D display. Would I be able to use in my 8400 I just grabbed ? Does the MOBO have an AGP slot ?
What do you guys think of the 128MB PCI Express ATI Radeon X300 SE compared to the card I mentioned above !?
Thanks ..

Keep an eye on a Abit IC7-MAX3 with a Penitum 4 800MHz FSB with a Zalman, 512MB of CORSAIR XMS Xtreme and a seagate SATA drive for sale soon in classifieds as soon as I get my Dell.
