This system was already in my cart, but somehow got snatched away when I tried to remove one of the three systems in my cart. I got a message that my cart was empty. Weird. Wonder how it happened.

I saw that one pop up for a few seconds again.

D*mn it! That's what I am here to complain about. I saw it in the listing at about :48, put it in my cart and had it there for the second time, but when I tried to continue, it said:

The system was not able to process your request.
Please try again, and if this error re-occurs call 1-888-462-3355 and a sales representative will assist you.

I tried to drop it and pick it up in another browser, but it was gone.

Two g*d d*mn times!

Nah.

Thanks!! bamacre
One of the best deals I have seen on this forum.

Haven't had much success due to scripters but I picked up a 4700 P4 2.8 GHz with 256 MB/40GB/CDRW/DVD with Media Center XP for $253 shipped(very warm).

Is Media Center equipped PC has any thing different from XP home or Pro?

Ah crap, I was about to cancel this order because I was going to try and get something better (hard to do though with script kiddies). At least tell me it's an okay deal... Only thing I want to do is add some more memory.

Dimension 8400 Desktop: Pentium 4 Processor 540 with HT Technology (3.20GHz, 800 FSB, 1MB)
Microsoft Windows XP Home
512 MB DDR SDRAM, 400 MHz (2 DIMM)
160 GB EIDE SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
256MB Nvidia GeForce 6800 Graphics Card
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit ADVANCED HD Audio with 100dB Perform
48X CD RW Drive
16X DVD ROM Drive
TOTAL: $554.00

What are the 4700's fetching on Ebay nowadays? Somebody offered me a Sony F717 plus $200 cash, would that be better than putting the system up on ebay?

Depends on if you need a camera, doesn't it? 🙂

Bamacre sells his 4700s with 2.8/512/80GB/DVDRW for around $475 plus shipping.

Mine is a bit better - P4 3.2 instead of 2.8, but I barely have any feedback, and I don't think the ebay monkeys care about heatware.

Haha I had the best time shipping my systems out...go into the UPS/DHL store we have here @ UF on campus. I tell the girl I have 3 more to bring in she gives me the weirdest look. Then my friend knew some girl @ the counter so they started talking. Brought the other 3 in. Then they started asking about the computers and what I do with them. I'm like I buy them and I sell them. They're like where? Ebay. How much do you make (I hate these questions isn't there something called "financial privacy"). So I told them not much. They wouldn't lay off so I told them I make like $20 off each one. They finally shut up I got out of there after like 30 minutes, just next time when I have more than 1 computer to ship I'm paying the extra $5 or whatever it costs and calling UPS to come pick it up...

I've been using FedEx lately, and it's been fantastic. They are much cheaper and haven't screwed anything up yet. In my experience so far, FedEx Ground is about half of UPS Ground. I shipped one out today, going to Kentucky, 14 dollars to ship, and the customer is getting it tomorrow.
