Official Xbox one controller drivers now available.

Any one have an Xbox One? Just wondering how the feel of the controller is: good/bad vs. the 360 controller.

I prefer the 360 controller in most ways. The bumpers are better, it feels more solid and rounded off, the xb1 has a few sharp corners and doesn't feel as molded to the hand(the bumps underneath the triggers feel odd when I hold it), the analog sticks are too tall IMO making them too twitchy. Yet the triggers feel better and it's lighter overall. YMMV of course.

After using all the 4 major controllers available...the DS3, DS4, XB1, and 360 I would rate them in this order... DS4 > 360 ≥ XB1 > DS3

My only problem with the Xbox One controller is, at first, the bumpers are kind of strange and I couldn't reliably hit them with my index fingers on the triggers. I don't have any problem with the sticks being too long.

I never really said it was a problem. I mean they are taller than the 360 analog sticks. This in turn makes movements a bit twitchy since precise movements are tougher.

When using it for 5 minutes I don't really care anymore as I'm pretty much engrossed in the game, but when going back to shorter analog sticks I notice it immediately and feel I have better control right away.

Everyone has an opinion - yours is as valid as any other. I've heard of the bumper/analog issues for some. As a gamer for many years, I'm bit embarrassed that I haven't tried a xbox one controller yet.

Do they make a XB1 controller 'for PC' like they did eventually with the 360 one?


The one I see on Amazon is just the XB1 'wireless' controller, do you still plug it in to use it on PC? I've got just a regular wired 360 controller for PC.

I see they are still charging the silly $50 per controller...so I'll wait to get one until my 360 controller breaks.

There isn't a wireless adapter for the XB1 controller yet. You have to plug in the wireless XB1 controller to your pc via your own USB cable.

How has it been with games like Dark Souls 2 and Transistor? is it being recognized correctly?

I tried it with Dark Souls when this thread first popped up and had no problems. Other than I had to remove some drivers and a service that was allowing me to use a PS3 controller without MotionJoy.

I love using my XB1 controller for PC games, but I'm experiencing what I think is a bug in the drivers. Sometimes when a game uses vibration, say F1 2013, the controller keeps vibrating when it should otherwise stop. It's quite possible it isn't the driver but might be the way the game handles vibration, but I thought I would mention it.

No vibration issues here but I don't have f1 so I don't know about that game.
