I've been playing my 360 on my Panasonic Plasma since I got it and I haven't had any signs of burn-in. Not even temporary image retention. I think a lot of it depends on the quality and age of the plasma. Olders ones were more likely to get burned, but any newer model you should be fine. Or at least any new, good quality one.

My copy of GRAW arrived yesterday. At first I was a little put off by the controls, but after about 30 minutes of playing I was loving it. The graphics are great, the audio is great and once you get used to the controls, they are great too. But the thing that I think I'm probably going to be spending my time on is the online play. The maps are great and huge and I didn't experience any lag at all during my play. This is a great game....especially on a big HDTV Plasma!

Speaking of TVs, the dream TV. I think they had one of these at CES this year, and I believe they said the sticker price was 100k lol.

I've got a 61in Sammy DLP, love it. Also considering putting one of these in the MB. Checked it out a couple of weeks ago, has great clarity and contrast from what I saw, and for 50in HD Plasma that price is hard to beat.

Haha nice LCD! I like the new SEDs they showed off too.

That Vizo loked really nice. I went to costco last week and looked at it for awhile. That might be my choice, but I think it's too large for my room where I game. How far away should you sit at 50"? I can't go back too far or else I'd fall out the window

Hey what's everyones HD setup? Looking to get a new HD plasma, wondering what everyone has (And who plays a lot of 360, that's what it would be used for mostly.)
My setup... 51" Sony RP HDTV and bargain basement surround sound.
Are those Polk R30s? Also, is that a 12" Dayton sub?
They're R50's, and it's a downfiring KLH sub.

Hey Wingz, where did you get your face plate skin again? I know it was in this thread somewhere, but I really don't want to search!!
360Covers.com
They now offer a similar (but much better looking) skin that covers both sides, as well.

I got Burnout yesterday and I'm enjoying it a lot.

I ordered GR:AW from Outpost, but it got backordered, so it won't be here for a while I guess. I'm thinking about picking up Fight Night Round 3 this weekend.

I got re-addicted to WoW for a while, but I'm coming back to the 360 now. Some of you add me to your friends list. My gamertag is in my sig.

I picked up GR:AW and Burnout last night, and I found myself playing Burnout more than GR:AW. But tonight we'll see how that stays 🙂

Apparently, the mandatory Dashboard update screwed up some people's 360s. I think I will include mine in this since my freezing problems started occuring AFTER the update. My 360 only froze once before and that was because of that bug in PGR3 where the game will freeze if you go to the dash while a track is loading.

Yeah, I was playing Burnout last night and my 360 froze twice - and I've never had a problem with any game before. If that is indeed the problem, I hope they get it fixed soon.

I'm calling Xbox tech support tonight when I get home. Kotaku, and Xbox360fanboy have picked up on this so far. Major Nelson responded that they were going to look into this problem in the Xbox.com thread. Hopefully, the news will become more widespread and MS will replace 360s that have been fubar'd...even the ones out of warranty.

If you aren't playing online as you have been doing, and don't plan on it, I would continue to do what you are doing by playing offline until you hear this problem is fixed. No need to risk if you aren't even going to be gaming online or anything.

(but keep in mind this is only happening to a very small minority of 360 owners)

Yeah I guess I'll wait, just to be safe, ya know? Unless some amazing demo comes out soon. I wonder if the N3 demo will be out in japan in the next week or not.

Whelp, I called Xbox Support tonight and no problems with replacing my Xbox even though I'm out of the warranty period. Yeeeeehaw </Duke Boys>

Did you purchase with a CC? Even if they had said no, most of the major CC companies add an extra year to the warranty, so you can file a claim that way.

You can purchase points through the dashboard, or from a local retailer... 500 points = $6.25 (which is 1.25 cents per point.)

Geometry Wars costs 400 points, which equals $5.

Thank you. I'm new to xbox live and the whole idea of real money translates to online credits, beilive it or not I couldn't find anything on how it works. I watch my sh!t.

Thanks again for helping a brother out.

burn in on plasmas is pretty much a myth IMHO.

<---been gaming on just about every HD technology out there for 5 years now, but then again I don't run the contrast at full blast.

Yeah I did but it doesn't really matter now since they are replacing it anyways. I'm going to go ahead and get the 2year extended warranty from MS though. I'm not going to play chicken with the 360 again and likely get burned next time I'm out of the warranty period.

I wouldn't exactly call it a myth, though I think for the most part it's correctable. At work we installed an ED Panasonic plasma set in December, and it got burn-in within less than two months - the little C-SPAN logo is burned into the corner.
