Oooh, sweet.

I've got a 30" directview HDTV and an Infocus 4805 for a nice big picture. Gonna work on setting up the audio stuff tonight.

Not all customers are satisfied. "The level of incompetence I have had to deal with is unbelievable," says Brian Smith, 48, of Owasso, Okla., who is trying to get a new power supply. "I can't describe how disappointed I've been."
dude you're 48. sell your XBox 360 and move out of mom's basement.
Not sure if you've noticed, but the gamers are growing up, and it isn't just for kids anymore. If you are a gamer yourself, you'll probably still be a gamer in your 40's.

i'm 35 and my wife 'let' me camp out for 6 hours for my 360...now she's ticked that all i do in my spare time is play ridge racer 6 or pgm...
According to my local paper, the average gamer is over 30. I work with quite a few gamers in their 40's, and even a few in their 50's. I don't really consider myself to be a gamer anymore, because I don't play anywhere near as much as I use to. However, I love video games, and god willing, I'll be playing until I die.
LOL... i'm pretty much pwn3d here... i'm 30 and i still game. 😛

actually, just started NFS: Most Wanted last night. (PC).

<pwn3d 😛

So has anyone else been playing Geomtry Wars? That game is one of the most addicting games I've played. I always want to keep playing and trying to beat my high score.

Mine is "FeedTheGod". It's an old name from my CS days 🙂

You won't see me on Live until Dec 24th. It's an Xmas gift to my 8 yr old, but you'll see either me or him playing a lot after that!

These are the games I got in the bundle for him

Kameo: Elements of Power
Project Gotham Racing 3
Call of Duty 2
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Need for Speed Most Wanted
NBA Live 2006
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006
Ridge Racer

I plan on picking up Madden 06 also. So we'll have to play sometime!

It bugs me because it takes longer to log in and then the little profile screen comes down and I have to pick my name. Before live, it would just say "logged in' and go right away
If you go into your profile settings (or preferences, or something like that...) You can enable an automatic sign in on one of your profiles. Pick the one that has XBL and you are set.
That's how you do that. My 360 defaults to the last profile created which drives me nuts as mine was first. Thanks for the info.

<--My gamertag.

edit: Alright, I couldn't find it. Any chance I can get slightly better directions? 🙂

edit2: I figured it out. I was in the wrong area.

any you guys know if you can have the system boot up to the dash always, even if a game is in when you turn the machine on?

What I found unique in the Xbox 360 is that it offers near-photo-realistic graphics, play music and video and link up gaming communities over the Internet that Sony and Nintendo is planning to offer next year.

Mine is Muadib1. I'm still waiting for my copy of Madden 06, so I don't think I'll be on much until I get it. Did DOA4 come out yet?

My Xbox360 got shipped off to the repair center today, and should be there tomorrow by 10:30am.

I'll keep this thread updated with how long it takes them to fix it and ship it back.

Did you make note of the serial number? I'm wondering if they are fixing, or replacing them?

More like a case mod. Nothing was done beyond the aesthetics of the case. The additional 60GB HDD is near useless unless you plan on taking the 360 out of the house regularly...otherwise, all it is doing is adding more heat and vibration to the console.

gamertag = EngenZerO

has anyone gotten media connect to work? i had it working earlier... but now its messed up again and my xbox can't see my pc but my pc still sees my xbox... 😕

They said fix, but yes I have the serial number.

Personally I would prefer a BRAND NEW one then a fixed one.

I wouldn't doubt they might would just send you a new one if they have some reserved for defects. They're aiming for quick replacement and thus I would assume that a new one would be the fastest way to do that.

Could be that they'll send you another one that was fixed and is working correctly. They could just swap hard drives and send it to ya.

Then again, I don't really know, but here's to hoping, right?

I imagine whether or not he gets a new one would be dependent on the severity of the problem. If it's just a problem with the DVD drive, HDD, or PS it would be a simple part replacement. If it is something more serious then he'd probably get a new console.

Yeah, but depending on the turnaround time MS is aiming for they might have fixed or new boxes ready so they can just swap the hard drive (unless it was faulty but it doesn't seem like thats been a problem as of yet) to the "new" box and send it back so that there is minimal downtime for the consumer. I'm sure they have a nice tool that will easily diagnose the problem, but I don't know how quickly they could do it, especially with the "rampant" problems that supposedly are happening.

Your thought is definitely plausible though, but we don't really know for sure do we? I guess we'll have to see what Rage gets back from them before we can try to get an idea.

I can guarantee you they already have a process in place for defects and problems. Complete with scripts for the CSRs. I mean we're talking microsoft here. Sony, et all would do the same thing.

There is already a plan and process in place to handle these things. The paths are already set.

Damn I've been in corporate world WAY too long.

What I'm trying to say is that it is guaranteed that the product launch has all the bases covered and the launch plan/project plan has been picked apart/criticized to shreds by countless individuals. There will be no surprises as far as MS is concerned. These actions and "what ifs?" have been over analyzed to death internally.

So all the cost/capital/operating/marketing expense calculations have already been done and there are no surprises outside of production difficulites. And even those have coutermeasures.

damn you PMI - you are turning me into a machine.

Yeah, that I'm sure of. We were just kinda discussing what their path might be, just send a new one, a different repaired one thats ready, or repair that one.

Yeah, just thought I'd give a little bit of inside product launch/product manager point of view.

If I were the PM I'd demand the first ones be replaced with new and the "bad" ones be sent to engineering/development.

the first run are really the beta testers. How many people have had true problems with beta code? Not many percentage wise.

Meanwhile, I'm lovin' mine.
