I think late April. There are some signs already that supply issues are starting to clear up. I bought mine a couple weeks ago on a whim - not after camping overnight. To a certain extent, though, the overwhelming demand means that ready availability is going to take so many 360s that the retailers are flooded with them. The PS2 had massive availability issues, too - it's just the nature of the game.

You are absolutely correct.

I bought a Core on launch day, because there were absolutely zero Premiums available. (I got incredibly lucky to get the Core, as it was.) So, my choices were a Core 360 or a NO 360.

The first thing I did was go on a hunt for a HDD. :)

I would have really liked a core system that didn't come with _anything_ except for the console itself (including no output cables) that retailed for $200. Let me choose what controller I want, the output cable, etc. Now, I've got a spare component/composite cable that's absolutely useless to me. Maybe I'll ebay it...

Since I had to buy the component cables, I ended up with a spare composite cable. So, I planning on getting another power supply and putting those in the spare room... That way, I can hike my 360 console upstairs, without any hassling with cables, when the HDTV isn't accessible to me (read: the wife is watching it.) :)

Hi,

I am having a strange problem in Call of Duty 2. I am not getting speech from the characters (e.g. the training mission where the commander guy is talking to you). I see the subtitles, all the other sound effects are playing, I get sounds/speech/audio during cut-scenes etc, but I distinctly remember trying this at a friend's place and the Training Commander talks to you.

I have a Onkyo HT-R510 receiver, set to Dolby Digital, with the Xbox set to Dolby Digital audio also. I am running this through a 4-2 component/audio matrix switch, and am using the same optical cable I had used with my original xbox. I'm running a 6.1 speaker set up and never had any problems with anything else..cable, music, dvd's etc.

All other sound seems fine. I can hear people talking on live in Halo 2, all sound effects seem ok.

Anyone?

Thanks

I average around 1.5 - 2 million now, and my high is 3.440 million. I was 68 on the leaderboards when I got it, now it's up to over 100 lol. people are starting to get much better at this game. i can't really get close to 3.44 million again, closest I've gotten is like 2.88 million.

I get so close to Multitastic it makes me sick.

And I've survived up to 880,000, so close to surviving the one million.

I have a feeling I will get both in the same game since they kinda go hand and hand.

You haven't gotten the 10x multiplier and scored 880K w/out dying?

I have gotten it like 4 times and its usually around 770K or so. I still haven't gotten to survive 1 million yet though.

I just didn't get enough of those blue small things from the corner to go over from 9 to 10.

Snakes will inflate your score, and sometimes I get a game of mostly snakes it seems :(

I was gonna sit down today and working on surviving a million. I would restart the game if i died beforehand, then I realized I didn't want to get it just yet and i should just let it happen on it's own.

Geometry Wars was well worth the money. I play it more then any other 360 game.

I've been playing the Fight Night 3 demo lately, and I must say that it's extremely impressive. It's amazing how you can tell how well a fighter is doing just from looking at them, and hearing the commentary. My only complaint is that the blocking system doesn't feel natural enough, but that could just be a problem on my end - I had similar complaints about counters in DOA 3 for a while, and then suddenly "got it".

I also wish I could "get" how to get these outrageous scores at Geometry Wars. Is it just practice makes perfect, or some trick I'm not getting?

There's counters in DOA4?!?:Q Anyway, I agree 100% on Fight Night. It's a must buy for sure. I need something to tie me over until Oblivion arrives.:D

No, no, I really did mean DOA 3, not 4. Although from what I hear, they're just a little harder to pull off in DOA 4. Counters are a bit TOO easy in DOA 3 - it's hard to get more than two hits in against a really good opponent.

The other RPG I think will be excellent is Mass Effect, from Bioware. Bioware has got a great track record, and I like the idea of a futuristic RPG for once. No idea about the release date, although I don't think it's anytime soon.

It really is just practice for geometry wars. You just have to get into grooves. It's also about not making stupid mistakes and dying by something that you shouldn't have died by. There are plenty of death's I get later on in the game that I just could not avoid where it won't even bother me, but sometimes I die by running into stuff I'm shooting directly at but just missed. Those kinds of deaths piss me off.

If you watch some of the videos on the net you will learn a lot. That's how I got better initially. I couldn't break like 800K then watched a video of the guy getting 4 million, and my next run I got like 1.2 million.

There are very specific spawns in this game too, and you just have to have a plan when it comes to all of them. I pretty much have a plan to take every spawn type situation. The only ones that really screw me up now are when stuff just starts spawning randomly all over the board, and about 10 of those red guys are coming at me while stuff is spawning everywhre randomly (around like 2.5 million). There really is no pattern I can find when getting these spawns, and it usually happens right after I die and will end up going on dying sprees.

But now my average is closer to 2 million and I am hoping I can one day get in the top 10. It' crazy the high score is now 16 million ...
