I agree - I've been really using that controller since Sunday, and it hasn't complained about batteries yet. It'd be nice if they had a battery charge indicator on there (so I don't get surprised), though.

An even cheaper and more environmentally-friendly option than disposable batteries might be to get one of those "one hour chargers" (or even three hours - it's not like you're going to run out so fast) and some 2300ma rechargeable batteries. Shouldn't be more than $20 or so, and they're going to last considerably longer than cheap alkalines. (I'd still prefer the dock. Where's my dock?)

What's also really needed now is third-party accessories. Microsoft is gouging people on the accessory prices, and I'm not sure if even I can stomach _$50_ for a second wireless controller. The damn things are only $20-$35 for the regular XBOX, and you don't even need a dongle anymore... Don't even get me started on that $40 VGA cable - would it _really_ have killed them to include s-video, vga, composite, and component on a single cable? Also, where's my DVI and/or HDMI cable? What brilliant genius there decided to make an HDTV console with no HDMI?

I hate to sound like a whiner, so I'll end off that I still love the hell out of my 360, and I think the hardware problems will resolve themselves as the year goes on.

Moving totally off my previous hardware rant, I picked up Halo and DOA 3 last night, and both work just fine in backwards compat mode.

Also the textures on the hill in Screenshot 5 are pretty weak, which makes me again think it's real time.
 
Costco.com has the controller for 38.99 + tax + shipping.. thats the best price I've seen. But you're right the prices for accessories are too high. :|:shocked:

That's part of MS offsetting the costs of developing and producing the 360.

You should be seeing Mad Catz and other controllers if you look around. I've seen a 3rd party wireless controller at CircuitCity though I don't remember the brand. I don't remember the price now either but it was cheaper.

Yeah get it. I got it at launch and I didn't even PLAY any other game, I just played through the entire game before I even bothered anything else. It's my fav 360 game so far. Graphics are amazing, controls are solid, good music, good voices. Really great game. Only problem is it's really short. I think I beat it in 8 hours, maybe 9, but not any more than that.

Link? These exist for the regular Xbox, but not for the 360, as far as I can tell. There are some _wired_ controllers, but those are not at all what I want. Like I said, I know they'll be out sooner or later, but I was sort of hoping that since we're already a couple months down the road, they'd already be out.

BTW, Circuit City does have 12 month Live subscriptions for $45 online - that's less than $4 a month, which should really be pocket change for anyone who's going to be using it.

it ships the 20th so it should be in stores the 21st.

I agree, its a solid buy at 50$. You've got the storyline which is great, then collecting fruits and elixers for 100%. After that there's score attack which adds a completely new and challenging element to the game. Its my second favorite game, after CoD2.

Any of your Xbox360 crashing? I only have PRG3 and it crashes quite a bit. It has crashed 5x in the past 5hrs of gaming...2x in the past 2hrs today. Yesterday it crashed 3x in the 3hrs I was on it. It is REALLY p!ssing me off now...I can't even reset the dam Xbox360 from the controller. It just has the screen it was last on and it just static.

PGR3 is pretty sweet but the dam lack of penalty/ slow down for people blatnetly raming in to you is VERY annoying. It is a dam racing game, not f0cking bumper cars!

Hmmm...MAYBE I got a dud one? It crashed a further 3x in the past 2hrs. REALLY annoying...

Wouldn't be so bad if I could reset from the controller as per usual but it just locks up.

Guide button as in the middle "X" button? Mine more often then not hangs when I press that after an invite or during loading or some other screen. REALLY irratating me. I think if it happens ~ once per 2hrs of gaming over the course of the coming week I'm goign to return the dam thing and get another one.

yah that middle big round X button is the guide button. Sounds like you pressing it during a load screen in PGR3 is the same thing I did. However it only happened to me once, and i hardly play PGR3 at all heh so I dunno.
 
Pressing a dam button during the load up SHOULD NOT crash/ hang my Xbox360!

Microsoft should increase the ridiculous 3 month warranty on these systems since there's been so many problems already with overheating, freezes, etc.
