Kotaku has some CES shots of Burnout being played. If you look at the cabinet holding the A/V equipment, they have two 360s sitting on top of each other! If they don't overheat then the heat issue is definitely overblown!

edit: Joystiq actually has better shots of the setup.

only cooling device at CES I've seen is the Nyko intercooler for 20 bucks.

The whole cooling issues have been very much blown out of proportion. If your 360 doesn't work while sitting on your shelf (without additional help), then it is defective. The fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority work as designed.

I just want to see it. sheesh. I have ZERO problems. What's the harm is seeing what they are doing.

Interesting. A Bethesda developer confirmed that Oblivion will be on only one DVD for the Xbox 360.

If Oblivion with its 16 square miles of explorable land, 50-100 hours of gameplay, etc etc can fit on one DVD....I think it is safe to assume that the vast majority of games should be able to as well.

Try Quake 4. I don't care what anyone says, its a ton of fun. The mutiplayer is great too. In case you guys haven't heard about this. 10$ of all 360 games at Best Buy.

Same here. I preordered mine from eToys and had it since launch. It's my favorite console ever. Nothing wrong with the Dreamcast. True gamer know the Dreamcast was the best console of the last gen.

Also rumor has it that the 360 may be getting an update to allow for downloading in the background. Personally, I think this is a must have.

Definitely. I was pretty surprised when I figured out you couldn't do anything else while downloading.

I downloaded the demo, and thought it seemed pretty good. I'll probably pick it up somewhere down the road. But, I'm still real busy with Condemned, Call of Duty 2, PGR3, NHL2k6, etc.

I need to finish some of these games, as another slew of (possibly) great games is coming... Dead Rising, Fight Night 3, Tomb Raider Legend, Test Drive Unlimited, The Darkness, Frame City Killer, etc.
And then a few weeks later, we get Splinter Cell 4, Ghost Recon:AW, Saint's Row, MotoGP, Burnout Revenge, etc.

I had that happen too once. Turn off the 360, then turn it back on using the controller, and all should be well. It worked for me anyway.

I had another problem briefly last night. When I turned the 360 on, I had no picture, but the sound worked. I thought I was screwed, because I knew there was no way anything was loose, but I checked anyway. I was going to turn it off for the night, but decided to power cycle it, and just like that, all was well.

I'm paranoid now though, and plan on running the DOA4 demo for 10 hours of so today. I never registered my 360. Will Microsoft give me grief if I need a repair? You can bet I'll be registering today when I find out what my gf did with the box. She better not have trashed it.

holy crap thanks for that! I am going to get DOA4 today for $50 🙂
