I believe you can stack on that free month, pretty sure, yes. If that came with the 12+1 card, you are looking at 14 months paid.

I think that the Costco return policy for 360 is still lifetime. Can anyone else confirm?

Also, how is Crackdown? I'm thinking about getting that game... how does it compare with Grand Theft Auto?

Yes, they will stack just fine. Just be smart and enter the 1-month trial first :).

Crackdown is similar in many regards to GTA, but it's very different when it comes to actual execution of the game. Like GTA, it has the large, go-anywhere city, different weapons, car-jacking, etc. But unlike GTA, the method of going through the game is VERY different, albeit not necessarily any better, different things like having a central agency for your character, better targeting, and the agilities make it feel like an entirely different game (being able to jump extreme heights, agency car morphing, running, etc).

90 days.

You can add the year to your existing month.

As most of you all know I've been denying the Zephyr rumor and I still don't htink it's coming any time soon. But I just saw the original article here ...

http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/05/the-second-xbox-360-revealed-codename-zephyr

Now if the new Xbox360 is going to include HDMI and is black as well, then how come we didn't see any pics of the black Xbox360 w/the HDMI ports?

This again only makes me feel that the pic there in the engadget was just from a Dev Xbox360, and that it still is not coming out any time soon :D

Looks like the XBOX 360 ELITE is arriving soon...

Update: Engadget has the scoop on the limited-edition 'Xbox 360 Elite'! (Details below.)

Looks like Game Informer's black Xbox 360 rumor wasn't so much a rumor as it was a pending exclusive in their shiny mag. Of course, GI weren't the first outlet to whisper secrets about an elusive revision of the Xbox 360 -- actually, Engadget got pics of the console's (dubbed Zephyr) HDMI port, proving its existence. Now, GI's April issue has the deets.

This news has been floating around for a couple days -- first hitting NeoGAF and subsequently our tips line -- but, Kotaku has managed to get some pics of the page and even confirmation from GI that this isn't an April Fool's hoax. So, without further delay, the specs:

* Uh, it's black
* HDMI port and HDMI cable (oh, you bullies!)
* 120GB hard drive (but you told us 20GB was more than enough!)
* A $479 price tag (ouch!)
* No HD-DVD integration (yup), the "format's not proven" (pssst, and it's being outsold)
* The 120GB hard drive will be available for under $200 (uh, we certainly hope so!)
* It's coming in "late April"

Engadget adds:

* Dubbed the Xbox 360 Elite
* Limited-edition; probably a couple hundred thousand units
* Case, controller, and headset will be black; new packaging
* Confirmed: 3rd SKU; sold alongside Premium and Core bundles
* Elite runs cooler than other models
* Eventually Elite hardware (in white) will replace Premium; estimated to be in late summer or fall

Our questions:

* Where the hell is the built-in WiFi? Seriously. Our DS Lite has it built-in -- and DS is only $30 more than the 360's adapter! (Engadget: "There are no current plans to integrate WiFi into the Elite or future Premiums...")
* Will this be a third SKU, or will they finally pull the Core? Yeah, #3.
* Will the Zephyr Elite release come coupled with price-drops for the other SKUs? (Engadget: "Prices may remain the same with the 120GB / HDMI hardware upgrade in the Premium Xbox, but we may still see a price cut on the line when 65nm chips start shipping.")
* Does this model have the desirable, albeit delayed, 65nm chips? (Engadget: "not yet confirmed to have 65nm chips.")
* How pissed off will early adopters be?

Im dying for a new Prince Of Persia game (Like the first one). Didn't the PoP team do Ninja Turtles? Any reviews on that yet? If it's PoP with turtle graphics, I wouldn't mind. A good puzzle game like sands of time would go good in the mix of current games out

The people responsible for PoP are doing Assassin's Creed right now (at least that is my understanding). Now that is a game that I'm excited about.

I thought it was announced that Dead Rising is coming to the PS3 with co-op play (also offered free to current 360 owners of the game)?

There seems to be confirmation of Zephyr from a couple of independent sources; I'm tempted to say that the hardware is true but the price likely isn't. No one could possibly be dense enough to think that raising the price after a year and a half whilst adding an HDMI port and increasing hard drive space is a good idea.

Pretty much my thoughts. $479 for just the HDD and HDMI port is overboard. Should be $399.

Of course, it was also said somewhere that they are only going to make a few hundred thousand of the black models so the extra $80 may be for the limited editions....

That was Ryan Block (Engadget). He also said that after the limited edition run was up, the white Premium would get the Elite features and keep the same $479 price as the Elite (with a possible price cut when 65 nm chips come around).

I think that'd be a mistake. It gives the common public a perception of price equality with the PS3 then. Right now, I think a lot of people still view the 360 as the much better deal. This is a very interesting tug-o-war going on right now, though, between Sony and Microsoft, while Nintendo rakes in the dough :D.

dumb dumb dumb. MS could really crush Sony's throat if they would just drop the price of the premium to $300.

I don't think anyone's confirmed if it'll have built in WIFI...I have a cable running to it now but it'd be much cleaner if it were wireless

And now you all see why I am still calling shens on this Black Xbox360 version coming out :)

With the price of $479 that's going around with the whole rumor, it would be completely stupid as shlt for MS to do that from a business stand point.

Still ... at this point ... it's nothing more than a rumor. It's just gotten really out of hand, but again, if it does become a reality in late april/early may ... I will eat my words :)
