My Jasper has a Delta fan and it's actually louder than my Zephyr when idle. I don't know about drive or load noise yet though, haven't had a chance to compare.
As he has stated, from the pictures, that would be a Falcon, but that is just because our eyes are trained to look at the sticker that says 14.2 for Falcon and 12.1 for Jasper! However the internals COULD still be Jasper with a wrong sticker. The picture that would clear this up, is a picture of the plug port on the back of the console, with no plus in it of course, if at the top it has 2 prongs instead of 1 long 1 that means it would take the new 150W power supplies. Hope that makes sence and thanks for the pictures, had be all hot and bothered for a minute haha!
Oh and btw no one has confirmed a Jasper Elite yet with pictures, like I said a few people have claimed them, but no one has produced actual evidence. Some people just want their 15 minutes of fame I guess lol.
your not the first to state this complaint, the Delta's seem to be very loud unfortunately! I wonder if it's because they are working harder or if the bearings on the fan just are louder? I don't think we've seen a Jasper without a Delta yet, so it might be practicle and not just an annoyance? not too sure, probably not, but I can't imagine why they would load up the new boards with the louder fans knowing that the fans have already been a complaint?
JASPER Xbox360 Premium 60GB now in store in GAME Edinburgh Cameron Toll shopping centre. Went in today and the dude popped off the sticker took a look at machine and it's a 12.1a!!! 
He also mentioned his Elite he bought in store had 12.1a!!! Didn't bother taking a look at the Elite machine as I only wanted a Premium. So if anyone is in the area and wanting a Jasper Elite you might want to try there.

As far as I am aware it would surely be illegal to give incorrect power ratings. They cost of the stickers will be next to nothing and so I can't see a reason why they would do it. Perhaps one may have been labelled wrong, but I would not assume that to be the case. Also, that build date suggests to me that there is zero chance of it being a jasper. The 846x LOTs that I saw were newer (I think) than that and none have come back as Elites from my searching. Have a look at the LOT number on yours and if it is any lower than 846, then I would have to assume it is a correctly labelled Falcon.

You seem to have dropped upon one of those very rare occaisions where the shop assistants want to help. That being the case, if you are passing again at any point can you have a quick look at the Elites.
Also, I can confirm that I have seen some 843x Jasper Arcades in Asda. So anyone still searching for one of those could try there.

It's probably not a Jasper elite then, unfortunately. I'm crossing my fingers that we will see the new red elites, all with jasper boards.

The red ones could indeed be the place to catch a Jasper Elite. They will have only been built very recently and so should be fairly up-to-date kit inside. Well they are due to hit soon so we will know either way very soon.

Bloody hell, I read your post last night but for some reason I didn't read it properly. Can you get the LOT number of that Elite Jasper? And if he had one in store then I am sure there will have been more. I might be heading to Edinburgh very shortly!
sick I'm gonna throw down a preorder and just pray for the best I think! or just buy it when it comes out as I have a strong feeling these are the jaspers we've been waiting for, kinda like the halo editions were the first to get falcons because they were manufactured newer than the old pros and elites on the shelves still. Sorry if my post makes no sence I'm going off of like 6 cups of coffee just taking a study break from my midterm cramming!
Actually it was the plug that didn't have the 1 long piece at the top. The console itself does have one long prong. I guess I have a falcon! Oh well, I still like it

dude cant get to cameron toll anytime soon. but here's the phone number for anyone wanting to ask the staff to check if the elites have 12.1a on them cause I heard most GAME shops are opening them the boxes to check now! It makes a sale!

The same in my local Game. They had some brand new elites in with the 902x pros but they were only 835.

That is terrific news, I almost fell off my chair. I sincerely hope the Black ones show soon too. I prefer them to the red ones. I made a prediction previously that we may need to wait until LOT 901 + before we saw them. Even my girlfriend seemed pleased (I wonder if she realises that the time I spend looking for Jasper Elites will soon be spent playing a Jasper Elite?). Also a little bummed that I can't get a bigger bundle. They only come as the special edition bundle. I need an extra controller. Game do a good pack which includes Halo 3 and an extra controller (+ Kung Fu Panda & Lego Indiana Jones). Not even looked into RE5. I used to play them years ago. I'll have to check out some reviews sharpish.

When I get my Jasper I need to be able to get my game saves off another xbox. Do I have to purchase that wretched Microsoft branded thing and pay through the nose, or can I use my USB flash drive/stick thing? I have an awful feeling that the answer is going to be paying through the nose. Which bums me out as I am unlikely to need the memory unit again.

I still have the Gamecube RE game, but never bothered playing it. Excellent that the RE5 bundle is Jasper, but it just makes waiting for a black Jasper console that much harder, and the wait possibly even longer. The RE5 bundle will eat away at the normal Elite sales, meaning that old stock may be on store shelves even longer. Bah!

If you want to keep your saved games and stuff from your old hard drive you should go to xbox.com and order a transfer kit, free of charge. You can't use USB flash thingies to do the transfer.
and about which console your gonna go for... It's up to you, but if you don't have any interest in the RE series you could always wait for the black elites to surface, but no one has a clue when that is going to happen, it could be in just one day but more likely it wont happen for at least 1-4 months, depending on where you live. Else you could just buy the red one on March 13 and sell the RE5 game and buy an extra controller with that money. That's what I'm going to do

From what I understand, when you use the cable transfer kit, it takes all of the info off the drive and transfers it to the new hard drive. You need to pick up a 360 memory card/stick thing and you can transfer gamertags to it and take from system to system. I think they are 256mb or something. You can probably get one cheap on ebay or maybe amazon or something.
just through down a pre-order today in Canada at EB Games, so I'll be sure to let everyone know on the 13th when I pick it up if it's a Jasper.
