-----------
Model: Pro
Team: FDOU
Lot: 841X
Mfg Date: 10-4-2008
-----------

If you have been watching my posts you will realize that this is the same as the mfg date for the 840X lot I reported last week. Not a great sign in terms of getting "new" consoles.

well it seems we may all have a long wait ahead of us. down here in my area the newest lots i found were:
cson lot 0832
fdou lot 0836

stores were in the bronx, new york....

Just got home from my local Circuit City with an FDOU 0843X arcade manufactured on 10-22-2008. They also had quite a few Pro bundles that didn't appear to be repacks. They were all FDOU 0838X

I don't have a Home Depot local to me, but I might be able to pick up a Kill-A-Watt tomorrow. If I can snag one, I'll take the readings and post pics...

Yesterday I picked up an Xbox 360 Arcade at Best Buy in Raleigh, NC and the newest ones they had were TMEM Lot 0831's manufactured on 8-10-2008. If you've seen my recent thread, you would know that this one was defective. I looked at the elites and pro's and they were all Lot 0830 and below.

Took it back to Best Buy today for an exchange and they had one FDOU 840X manufactured on 9-29-2008. The actual physical packaging that contained everything was slightly different from the rest, but the actual Xbox looks exactly the same as the previous one. Gonna hook it up and check it out soon to see if they preloaded XNE on it. I will compare the heat output by feel I guess to see if there is any "significant" difference and how loud it is during gaming, compared to the older model.

I was wondering Jasperhunter if it would be possible for Anand to take the analysis one step further when you tear down a Jasper 360 officially and find out if there were any changes to the packaging materials and solder used on the CPU/GPU of the Xbox 360s and compare back to the Falcon and Xenon/Zephyr revisions as well?

The solder/packaging has been one area where the source of the failures have been theorised to originate. It would be good if possible to confirm/deny that and it will make the article a little more useful.

Thanks, Squilliam

hey there to all that are looking and waiting for the jasper. what i am about to tell you may help out in the hunt for the ilusive jasper. ihave not found one but i may know of a way to increase the likelyhood of getting one this holiday season. all that anyone has to do is befriend a retail store that sells the 360. wait till after black friday and make sure that one of your store of choice has sold out of all 360s. or at least the bundle that you are looking for. the more they sell out the faster the jaspers will come out. that is about all i can do to help, i am a noob after all. good luck! God Bless, and Merry Christmas, Happy New year, happy holidays.

My local Target Store is completely out of all Xboxs! A delivery truck was do in last night as well as another one tonight. I'm hoping to pickup a newer Elite!! I'll post my findings!

Registering with Photobucket would be a good choice,

its free and allows many types of linking to the images.

http://photobucket.com/

Its easily the best image hosting site.

If you want none registrations then I believe Imageshack offers this, but Photobucket is better.

I really hope a Jasper comes soon, I am nearly, closely, at breaking point to buying a v3 Falcon.

My personal opinion is that we're just now reaching the point where we would start to see significant Falcon failures. That is, if they're going to fail on a consistent basis. However, I have no proof of this whatsoever, just some highly educated guesses. I guess we'll find out over the next few months.
My friend and I both bought Elite Falcons back in December 2007. His ringed in late August playing Too Human, mine ringed 2 weeks ago playing Fallout 3. We're the only 2 people I know personally with Falcons, and sadly they both died.

Of my crew of 6 people who have all been with the 360 since launch, EVERY one of them has ringed once.

Two of us bought Elite Falcons as above, and they have also both ringed.

One had their replacement box with flaky networking that MS would not even touch, he went and bought an arcade.

One had their replacement box ring again a few months ago.

Two are still on their replacement boxes.

I was excited when AFboxer mentioned he got a 0842 CSON pro last week from the Dell offer. I too have been holding out and bit on that when I heard it. I got mine last night from Dell and it was a 837 FDOU and the kicker was someone had obviously opened and returned it because the seal was broken and same with the tape on all the items inside.

Am hoping to resolve with Dell and exchange it for a new one that has not been opened and hopefully can get a 842 or higher CSON and hope for the best. I got no problem buying a 360 as long as it is reliable and unfortunately none of the Zephyr or Falcon chipsets come close to being reliable.

Crossing fingers and hoping the Jaspers appear and soon!

AF XBOXER, picasaweb works fine. but, we need to see the numbers that you've blurred out. you can keep your serial number blurred but will be best if you can unblur the other data. here's to hoping you can upload new pics soon...
