google helped me out some. more on dark phoenix, though. some still is still kinda "wha?" to me =/
 
she's pretty difficult to explain. I'm curious how they'll do it in the movie.



You could try looking for the Xmen Cartoon version of Dark Phoenix Saga or Uncanny Xmen #129-137


Basically she becomes empowered by the spirit of the Phoenix and is super powerful. Thats kinda why they were explaining a bit about how we evolve (she evolved further)

That was a great movie! The begining was awesome and I enjoyed how Night Crawler infiltrated the White House so easily. It was quite amazing how his ability allowed him to take out all of the President's bodyguards so easily heh.

I totally agree. As to the Pheonix thing (I've never read the comics and watched the cartoon only a couple times as a kid) I just thought they'd killed Jean off to relieve themselves of writing their way out of that contrived love traingle. 😀 The drama was all pretty sickening, but other than that it was a good flick. I was dissapointed Patrick Stewart got pushed around so easily though, being professor X and all.

:Q I didn't see his name. At which part of the movie? What was on the computer screen?! I can only hope they bring Gambit in. My friend and I are hoping that Gambit has as big of a role as Nitecrawler did this time.

Great movie. First movie I have seen in theater in well over a year, I might have to go back!

yup, remy Lebeau's name was on the computer, as soon as i saw it i leaned over and poked my friend and whispered "gambit, gambit", he didn't know what i meant

Also, Hank McCoy aka Beast was shown, yeay
 
What I found funny was that in the garage, they decide to take the Mazda when there's a perfectly good Ferrari sitting next to it...

Mazda must have paid out the butt for that product placement.

Wow wow wow. Some questions and comments.

1. How come Rogue can't fly yet? Where is Miss Marvel so Rogue can kill her?!

2. Isn't Mystique supposed to be Rogue's mom? That was the only flaw I saw in the first movie and of course it carried over.

3. Who the hell is the Stryker kid? He was not in the comics, was he?

4. Who was that screaming girl at the school? Related to Havok?

5. Saw Beast on TV! (as others have mentioned). Did not see Gambit 🙁

6. When Professor X says "everything will be alright" did he mean that Jean Grey is alive or that the President was helping them out and the world (bigger picture) is going to be alright?

7. How come Nightcrawler didn't leave the stench of sulfur like he was supposed to each time he teleported?

8. Why is Pyro a good guy?

9. Who is that kid with the long tongue supposed to be? Toad? We already saw him in Episode 1 grown up...

10. The base is supposed to be in Canada right, since that's where Wolverine is from. Did it say specifically where the location was in the movie?

11. I hate that they are bringing Phoenix in. When Phoenix arrives in the comic books, isn't it when there is that cheesy alien race? In the comics when Jean dies it's while saving the ship too right?
 
I wish they had gone into the whole storyline with the phoenix though... you would think that they would have at least mentioned it. In the cartoon, and the comic, she didn't just get it out of nowhere, there was that chick from the other planet that took them to outer space... there is a whole story about how she got the power of the phoenix. Very very cool movie though. How much money do you think that it will make this weekend? I am betting it will be over $100 million, I loved Wolverines fight scenes in the mansion, those were great.
 
Some of my fav scenes:

1. Nightcrawler teleporting through the White House was awesome

2. When Wolverine kills the soldiers who infiltrate the school. The first kill was the best, when he stabbed the guy up against the fridge.

3. Magneto pulling the iron tablets from the guard and using them as weapons.

4. Magneto pulling the pins off of the guards' grenades

5. Wolverine and Kelly Hsu (forgot the character name) fighting was nice

Overall, alot of cool scenes made the movie worthwhile, IMO. Cool stuff 🙂
 
I thoroughly enjoyed it....the action sequences were great, the ffects were FLAWLESS, I especially liked the Nightcrawler scene in the whitehouse. There wasn't a whole lot of character development, but hey...it was still AAAAAAAAAAAAWesome
