So how many innings need to be played for this thing to be official and not called by rain? Or do they continue it the next day b/c it's the WS?

If you'd been listening they told us. No special rules for the Series. So, 4 and 1/2 innings if the home team has the lead.

This game is official.

what a BS rule

maaan, fuck Philadelphia. rain at the WS? what a bunch of asshats. get a roof, poor mofos!

😛

wow, Kazmir got SCREWED on that AB with Burrell. I know it's raining, but cmon ump. He missed two easy easy strikes. Not even borderline.

lol Perk. I don't think Kazmir was "squeezed" in the first like the announcers said (the tracker clearly showed they were inside) but that last AB to Burrell I agree with them.

Balfour in! Let's see if he chokes again or if he can get out of this. Bad situation for a fastball pitcher here.

Been happening all night, what a sad job by the home plate ump., I guess the Ray's need to throw complete cookies to get a called strike, this SUCKS...

Dude, if you think you can accurately call pitches from that offset Fox camera on your TV, you're delusional.

they just suggested that they might call of the game because of the rain. thats bs.
I highly doubt that would ever happen since this is a deciding game. I would guess they would just continue it the next day.

Dude, the issue here is low pitches, offset is irrelevant. Is this your first time watching baseball??, I've been watching for 40+ years and have NEVER seen such a poor job at the plate..

Didn't Joe Buck say that it doesn't matter if this game is the decider or not? that MLB can call the game regardless due to the rain.

Philly gets the call on the outside strike 3. Hot dam, but I don't blame the ump b/c they probably just want to go the hell home with that weather. 🙂

EDIT: Does the rain neutralize Upton's speed??

I have been trying to explain to my wife what it means to be a phillies fan or a philadelphia fan in general, being anxious waiting for the bottom to fall out at any moment, she doesn't get it.

Way too true. A sense of deep, dark foreboding is bred in our bones.

'Tis true. The second time the Eagles made it to the Superbowl only to lose again... I think every Philly fan cried a little on the inside.

and the sixers in '01. after winning game 1 i thought they were gonna do it. then came the 4 straight losses 🙁

That season was awesome, lthough, ittle Allen Iverson and a team full of defense. People don't remember or never knew that they had even BETTER team D with Ratliff who was both a pretty fair shot blocker AND MOBILE, so he was actively helping his forwards and guards on traps and double teams all over the court, than they more famously had with Dikembe clogging up the middle and wagging his finger on blocks.

The damndest thing is that, when Ratliff went down at mid-season, they came out and won five straight games with second and third string centers Todd MacCulloch and Nazr Mohammed before Larry traded for Mutombo.

That was a TEAM!

Edit: I never doubted the absolute heart of AI ever again. That dude has one massive organ (heart, perv).

true man, and i never understood why no one ever put a similar team around ai. to fully utilize ai, you need a strong defensive team with some guys that can shoot the 3. ok wait i know, its cause we had billy king as a gm. :/
