What the fuck is going on in Toronto

G20...it brings the world leaders and the wakos determined to make trouble.

It's all Harper's fault. City suggested CNE, which is very easy to block off and defend and not in the middle of Dowtown Toronto. But no, it has to be the Convention Centre.

We probably used up all of the late game heroic karma too early. Good run though. I must say I'm delighted to see and African team do well, it's just lame that it was us who had to face them.

I was cheering for Ghana, liked USA but I have to go with the last hope of the dark continent. I agree with you on USA being spent.

I'm actually suprised there are no G20 threads here, seeing as half the city is blocked up in a barricade, 2 police cars burned so far, and a 1.5 billion dollar security bill for us to pay with our taxes.

Oh yea, and nice game Ghana vs USA, glad that Ghana won 😛

Go Germany and the Polish players they have!!!

Very disappointing. Just seems that a lot of the US defenders don't get a chance to play against elite level forwards and it shows. They seem to always give up a goal early and it feels like they just don't know how quick or skillful other players can be until it's too late. I'm happy they advanced out of the group stage, this early exit though, heartbreaking.

Grats Ghana GL vs Uruguay

Good run US, but damn, that second goal from Ghana was fantastic! I have to say that was probably the best officiated game of the World Cup so far. They should put that crew in the final.

LOL our halfletes got blasted by Ghana. Soccer in USA attracts people who are slow and not very good athletes so they migrate to soccer because they can't play anything else. Saw this clear as day today. Huge difference in athletic ability.

That is not fair.

yep. except that the us had SO many chances to score and blew them all. it was really frustrating to watch, but those Ghanaian goals were great

We have some of the fastest men in the world in NFL, world class speed, soccer not so much. And it showed. Little tiny Ghana players beat our guys to the ball and out ran them all the time.

US is investing more and more into football and it takes a while to get results.

Seriously though, our coaching lacks innovation. Our brand of soccer is typical and outdated. It's old faithful, but Europe and South American soccer knows it too well. We won't beat good teams, or even Ghana, if we can't learn better soccer and be less static in the mid and backfield.

I blame the players more than the coaching. You can tell who great coaches are by how the team looks coming out of half-time, and they were very determined right after halftime. Then somewhere along the way they lost their swagger.

I just don't see many great players on the US team. Donovan is obviously great, but then there's 9 other dopes running around. I think the biggest problem for the US team in this world cup was that Altidore didn't show up. Needed him to be a big factor. But, US had a really good run, so can't rag on em too much.
