Algeria could have easily won that right before the US scored!

There were some definitely brain farts by the US...they almost took their aggressiveness for granted and let the algerians get behind their defense. Fortunately they shot it right at the goalie and there wasn't a rebound like the US got at the end.

they may have to play the krauts next

England play Germany virtually every big cup game so nothing new there, anyway we don't know just yet until after German game.

End of the day you got to play the big teams sooner or later, the knockout stages anything can happen.

Do you mean when the Algerian player had the ball and looked to have a shot on goal, and instead sent the ball across field to a teammate?

That had me confused.

England played well for the first 60-65 minutes, then oriented to defense. Still, I think they can go far, they just need Rooney to start scoring.

Didn't watch the US game, but glad they went through, given that bad call that cost USA a win against Slovenia, and Slovenian lucky goal against Algeria, it's sports justice.

The need to unleash their attack helicopter crouch

Lol people saying Algeria could have won the game, did we watch the same game? USA had about 5 half goal opportunities that an experienced team like, say, Brazil, wouldnt waste

Thats all it was, USA's inexperience was the only thing holding them back from owning Algeria by 4 or 5

Did the USA really get screwed out of the early goal? I turned on the game at 55' and the announcers on ESPN were talking about it. They seemed to be looking at things from a purely American perspective, though, so it was hard to tell how much bias came into play.

Also, it looked like Algeria was playing almost entirely defensively. Is this always the case with them?

yeah, called offsides when he was even with the defender....or even a half foot onside.
