Officials from DPRK confirmed that the entire national soccer team committed suicide to appologise for its failure to please the glorious leader. They all committed suicide with an AK-47 rifle firing 5 shots into their own hearts.

And for further compensation, three generations of their families have volunteered to smash rocks in Hamgyong province for the next 25 years.

I guess it's a good thing our glorious leader is more progressive than the Chinese emperors since they would demand the extermination of anyone within 9 level of relations :)

If only Kim Jong Il himself were on the team, NK would have easily won by at least 20-0. He's probably even better at soccer than golf.

I think his dad was the pro at golf, his very first time out he shot an 18.

I didn't see the beginning of the Chile - Switzerland game; I tuned in about 5 minutes before the red card.

I just read it but couldn't quite believe it - That guy didn't have a previous yellow?!?!?!?!?

Holy shit. That really is a disgrace to everything and everyone involved. I automatically assumed he had been given a yellow earlier.

For the first time in my life my enthusiasm for the WC is waning a bit.

They need to reign in these refs. A blown call here and there is expected from time to time but they are handing out yellow and red cards like candy on Halloween.
