So nothing is decided, any team can advance still. What a shocker from England.

hmm, announcer said that with another tie by UK, if US wins against algeria they are in regardless.

and it's over with a 0-0!!!!

If US wins their next game they are in regardless
If England (not UK) wins their next game they are in regardless
If Slovenia wins their next game they are in regardless
If Algeria wins their next game it depends on the outcome of the Slovenia-England game (Slovenia wins = Algeria in, draw = Algeria in, England wins = depends on goal differential)

If my math is right.

Yep, looks like it. US and England both need to win to get through, unless they both tie, then it would come down to goal differential.

mugs did a good breakdown there.

it looks like Slovenia will go into the 2nd round on that lucky goal, since no one else in this group seems capable of beating anyone else.
it'd be funny if USA lost to Algeria and Slovenia tied England to see Slovenia and Algeria advance, not at all impossible scenario... :p
US got ripped on that foul call, though I've seen worse misjudgments...

It's looking good for the US, with one match to go against the weakest team in the group. Weakest is relative, though, Algeria played pretty good D. Slovenia is looking like the strongest team right now, might beat England.

My prediction is that Slovenia and the US go through. Slovenia wins the group.

Yet another horrible game... My god, they looked like a bunch of amateurs! Was England this bad against USA? This is the kind of game that could go for 4 hours without a goal, they just didnt do anything right

This means now Algeria has something to play for against the US. Should make for a good game.

I hope Algeria beats USA. They have been working hard and well. The Slovania goal against them was just luck.

I'm cheering for Slovenia and the US to come out of the group. I generally cheer for England after Spain (I always cheer for them first) but they have looked so awful they don't even deserve to keep playing.

Will they try to go with a 4-5-1 now? Bench one of Lampard/Gerrard? Will Joe Cole start? Who to blame?

/English papers are gonna be snarky

what a horrible match...

i wore my england football shirt for this? horrible.

wayne rooney was absolutely atrocious...

and wtf, heskey? it's called follow-through! you'd have had at least two goals if you didn't stand there. i mean, shit, even 8 year olds learn to follow-through to the goal until the end of the play when someone else takes the shot.

ridiculous.

oh well, at least the states have a great chance of advancing.

christ... i still can't believe how piss poor they played.

.... so did anyone else laugh their ass off at the pansy-ass slovenian keeper who frigging got afraid of the ball donovan ripped into the roof of the net?

That was pretty bad, but I felt sorry for that keeper. Donovan loaded up for that shot and fired a rocket. I would have hated to be standing in front of him too.
