For any type of gaming you don't want a wireless mouse because you want to decrease the delay time as much as possible and info going form mouse to PC takes time. Another problem with wireless mice and gaming is that most mice after a certain period of time go into a power save mode so if you are hiding in a game for a long time your mouse may go into power saying mode and it will take another amount of time to bring it out of this "mode" so your inital movement isn't recognized

Yes, I agree with you in theory - but, for example I can sense no difference between my wired optical laptop mouse and my MX700. That's why I wanted to hear from someone who's used it, different strokes I guess.
Believe me, I want to get a G5 - but when my girlfriend sees I spent 60 bucks on a mouse she'll throw something. Neh. Gadget factor.
