uh huh... whatever you say pal

As for the movie I thought it was great once it got going, but was pretty slow to begin with. A few complaints here and there about certain parts of the acting, but all in all a great movie for not really knowing what to expect.

It seems like the people that liked this movie thought Dark Knight was the second coming so I know can wait on this one.

Just got back from it. I thought it captured the feel of the graphic novel very, very well. Overall very well done, exceeded my expectations. It is a little slow (compared to conventional film adaptations of comics), but honestly if you've read the graphic novel, you know that the story develops slowly. I felt it fit the way the story was told very well.

I gotta say though that the makeup on the Nixon actor looked ridiculous.

I saw it in IMAX at midnight. Wow it was accurate to the comic. Really good. I loved the one big change they made- I actually really disliked the way that one thing was in the comic.

It's true! The file I downloaded even said "THIS IZ HTE LEGALZ! DON'T CALL TEH PO-PO!" right before the movie started.

im curious about this. I have not read the graphic novel but why would it being true to it be a bad thing?

the graphic novel is a little hard to follow (atleast in the beginning) - filled with flashbacks and jumping thru time from frame to frame. This comic was previously thought to be unfilmable due to it's complexity. Not having seen the movie yet, I cannot understand why stating true to the absolute letter of the graphic novel would be such a bad thing because i loved the comic. But Ive been seeing a lot of this "stayed too true to the original source". People have always bitched when directors stray (LOTR, etc) which is necessary due to the limited time frame of the movie, and now they bitch because a director chose to tell the story exactly how it was intended.

The only reason for such comments that I can think of is that there is a lot of stuff going on in the graphic novel. Maybe Snyder tried to cram too much in the movie? Maybe the movie would've been better if he'd left some stuff out, or better yet if he'd made it a two parter. Dunno, I'll find out when I see the movie.

Low marks in metacritic, mediocre on RT, but Roger Ebert gave it 4 stars, if that still means anything. A lot of the mediocre reviews indicated that it's dense and less enjoyable if you haven't read the graphic novel, which I have. I'll be seeing it early Sunday morning.

*shrugs* this is the kind of movie I don't think critics would understand. I liked it a lot and haven't read the book, but I plan to soon.

Mr. Manhattan's junk?

In almost all of the scenes that show the blue and glowing Dr. Manhattan he is fully nude and we clearly see his penis, bare chest, abdomen, back and buttocks.

That's not really true - we didn't see his little man until like halfway into the movie and there are probably only four scenes where it's shown altogether. Granted, one scene has five copies of his dong, but it's the same dong.

What movie doesn't she look amazing in? I'm glad my introduction to her was in Harold & Kumar :D

She was also on Entourage...can't say she doesn't know her audience.
