Just as an example of how well Iraqi troops are treated, they just said on CNN that a field reporter had reported that a Iraqi soldier was being operated on to save his life from a serious abdominal wound.

The topic is a little odd, "50 casualties, many dead".
"Casualty" implies "dead", so this is somewhat redundant.

ca·su·al·ty     P   Pronunciation Key  (kzh-l-t)
n. pl. ca·su·al·ties

An accident, especially one involving serious injury or loss of life.
One injured or killed in an accident: a train wreck with many casualties.
One injured, killed, captured, or missing in action through engagement with an enemy. Often used in the plural: Battlefield casualties were high.
One that is harmed or eliminated as a result of an action or a circumstance: The corner grocery was a casualty of the expanding supermarkets.

^^^^^^^^
I dont mean to come off as a d!ck but its just that casualty has a more inclusive meaning.

no, moore (name?) insulted bush and the war, some cheered him, many booed him and what he was saying. i thought it was interesting b/c it represents what's going on around the world, there's a serious pro/con debate, and it carried over to the oscars. i never said anyone should listen to them or change their views did i?

It will? Where are the weapons?

well, like he said, if it's confirmed, then it's a chemical weapons plant. he's not supposed to have a functioning chem plant, whether they find weapons or not. obviously it (the plant alone) is not a WMD but the ability to make them is a no-no for sadam.

Exactly.

As I was listening to talk radio earlier today a major in the US army who was expecting to ship soon and who has a husband already there stated:

"I pay these people to entertain me, not to listen to thier political views."

She also reinforced something that I have stated all along, when people "protest the war" or "protest the president", but they are not protesting our troops it does not really matter what they say, in the eyes of our hard fighting and sometimes dying soldiers these protesters ARE protesting our armed forces, they are protesting the men and women putting thier lives on the line. It does not really matter what they (protesters) say, actions speak louder than words.

Actually, the Boo's were at Michael Moore for grandstanding the anti-war platform at the podium.

interesting point. i hope the men and women over there don't see the protests as being against them, b/c pro or anti, i would hope to god all wish them the best. yet, i find it ironic that ppl are okay with listening to what celebs think and say about products and services, ie. promoting/sponsorships, but they can't speak their mind about the war. that said, the oscars shouldn't be used as a ground for airing their feelings and protests. that i dont like. they can have their views and agree or not, just like everyone else.

British military officials said on Monday that two British soldiers were missing after coming under attack in southern Iraq. "We can confirm that two soldiers are reported missing following an attack on British vehicles in southern Iraq," a British official at Central Command in Iraq told Reuters.

"Efforts are being made to find them and recover them," the official said

anyone else bothered that the press is making a huge deal out of every missing person or person killed? I understand why...but if we make a big deal out of everything like that that happens, then people are going to start thinking this was a bad idea, in previous wars, we lost thousands of people a day, and I guarentee that the press didnt do all that publicity for every one of those soldiers
