Yeah...this from an alJazeera article:

In a further dismissal of any suggestion that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is not still firmly in control of the country, state television on Sunday again showed him meeting members of his inner circle that Washington also wants to assassinate.

No questioning as to the validity of the videotape and whether it was tape before the action started or not.

ABC News reporting Iraqi troops dressed in US-type uniforms are executing civilians unwilling to join them in fighting.

And that english Aljazeera site is working fine for me.

What happens if we end up crushing Saddam, taking over Baghdad, lose a couple hundred soldiers, then find out that Saddam didn't have any WOMD?

Major embarrassment.

Then the US would plant WoMD's of their own and make it look like they were there all along.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

The United Nations are the ones that established that Iraq has WMDs......now, who will be at fault?

I wonder if the American Forces are going to be blaring Hard Rock towards the Iraqi's prior to attacking them. They did that in Panama and the last Gulf War. Maybe they should be blasting sounds of tanks and Bombs at them for hours prior to attacking them. Maybe even Air Raid Sirens. Anything to rattle the Wags prior to going in for the kill!

hehe

I remember them blaring Ted Nugent from a speaker array attached to a jeep/humvee.
They should repeatedly blast Metallica's "One"

Well, the UN was inspecting to make sure that Iraq had destroyed the weapons (after the resolution was passed back in Oct or Nov) and hasn't turned up anything since inspections started in Dec.

I'm proud. I'm fearful.....and damn near in tears.....

Despatches from Baghdad:

Since most of you are watching CNN or FOX, neither of which have any journalists in Baghdad, you may have overlooked this report from one of the few western journalists left there:

http://www.msnbc.com/news/889982.asp?0ql=c8p

BBC also has a journie in Baghdad, here is his latest despatch:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2882579.stm

Also if you get the BBC World Service channel (or are using that "hack" to get it for free over the net) there is another videoreporter who is still making regular reports last time i checked.

For those who are getting their war information primarily from Western/Coalition News agencies, try this link HERE

I've been worried about propaganda since 9/11, and from looking at all available sources and at history, I think that the Coalition governments are definatly propagandizing(word?!?) at least in part. Also look at this site.

There is no such thing as "free" speech when it comes to war.

Open to comments/constructive critisisms.

Only congress can declare war. That has not been done. In fact, it is posssible what we are doing now is against the law and constitution. I am not sure. I'm sure eventually those questionable postions will be scrutinized. Frankly, I don't care,as long as Saddam, and Al Quada and Osama are obliterated while we wait for answers to those questions.

Yeah, I know that Congress can only declare war, but can't the president take action for like 30 days before Congress has to actually vote? Something like that

A while back Congress voted to give Bush power to use military force in Iraq. I'm not sure how long it lasts for, or how much force it authorized, but they voted for something along those lines
