The movie sounds like complete ass. Drake makes no mention of his family in either of the games and they go and add some uncle/father shenanigans? Never mind the fact that Mark Wahlberg doesn't play video games because of his addictive personality. 🙄

Ah well, we'll forget about it like we do every other video game movie. Well except Street Fighter with Jean-Claude. It's so bad now, it's good. 😀

I agree, i just saved $7. I wouldn't mind renting it for a buck or 2 @ redbox if it ever does come out.

I need to run through Uncharted 2 again. Such a great game.

In other Uncharted related news, allow me to "WTF?!" the casting of Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake for the upcoming Uncharted movie. I hope and pray it gets canceled.

I thought they already made this movie back in 1981.

In fact, I think Far Cry 2 looked better then Uncharted. If Far Cry 2 was third person, I would still be playing it right now. I think the train section in Red Dead was better that the train section in Uncharted 2.

GTFO with that BS! 😛 The train section in U2 was one of the best things I 've seen in a game. I'm surprised anyone even remembers there was a Far Cry 2. And while I beat Red Dead Redemption, I must say I do not really even remember a train section, except in the beginning intro.

Even though U1 was awesome, U2 is better in every way IMHO. It just didnt have the "discovered Uncharted for the first time" thing, but it had that "more Uncharted, bigger and better" thing.

They should have just gotten the voice actor from the game to play him in the movie too. The voice would have been spot on, and the guy actually looks a bit like Drake.

Yup. In fact, all the voice actors are actually actors, and the characters are modeled after them. They shouldn't think of this movie as a Mega blockbuster and just make a good movie. Wahlberg has no range and comes off as a punk when trying to be cocky.

I'm surprised of how well GameInformer scouted actors for the movie, better than the actual producer.

We know, we know...Mark Wahlberg will be Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted movie. We also know that Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci are being eyed for possible roles in the David O. Russell film. However, we have our own picks for who we'd like to see in the next game-to-movie. Take a look.
Nathan Drake - Nathan Fillion

Elena Fisher - Diane Kruger

i'm not really.

everyone in the Uncharted movie thread pretty much said Nathan Fillian would be a great fit.

and that guy they picked for sully is bad, he plays a stupid/funny guy in all of his movies. i just can't see him being serious at all.

the chick though ... she is spot on.

Teaser Trailer

It looks like Entertainment Weekly jumped the gun ahead of Sony's planned reveal for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and went and made the PS3 exclusive officially official with the release of a trailer at the Spike VGAs this weekend.

A third game in the series was all but assured after the success of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. For Drake's Deception, there will be lots of deception (hence the name) and it will be coming from all sides. Drake will be on the receiving end of some but will be dishing out some as well.
Uncharted 3 will bring back familiar faces in the form of Nathan Drake's mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan and continue with the focus on cinematic experiences. This time those experiences will take place in the Rub’ al Khali Desert on the Arabian peninsula. Naughty Dog took on the challenge because aside from being a part of the world they had never done before, rendering organic items like sand, water and fire is difficult and "[w]e’re a bunch of nerds. We just look for something that will be a technical, artistic challenge."

The multiplayer and co-op portions of the game are also being expanded as Naughty Dog's Evan Wells says that they "want to take on the big boys of the multi-player genre. It has become something here at Naughty Dog that will become an important part to all our games.”

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be due out sometime in late 2011 along with the novel, Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth. Naughty Dog has plans on following the steps of other games and making the series a "transmedia" entertainment brand. Which is why there's a movie in the works as well.

I really liked Uncharted, and loved Uncharted 2, but this sort of sounds like it might be too soon for another Uncharted game?

Who knows, perhaps by the holiday season next year I'll be ready.

This is officially the game I'm most excited about in 2011. I can't even think of a close 2nd. Until they do, Naughty Dog can do no wrong.

I hope that means LAN support, I've been begging for this on their forums and every time there's an Uncharted related PS Blog post.

Unsurprisingly, it will support 3D. Here's a press release.

Batman: Arkham City.

As much as I liked Arkham Asylum, it didn't hold a candle to Uncharted 2 IMO, and the ending to Asylum was abysmal.

Arkham City is also a pretty awful name, but if they can beat Naughty Dog this time around, I'm not going to complain. 2 epic games > 1 epic game
