Forgive me for my movie theater stupidity, but what are that catches with "Advanced Movie Screening". Is it the same as a regular showing just advanced in date?

most vendors will give out advanced movie screening to their customers as a thank you for their business.

I went to one hosted by cdw/emc for ocean's 13 and it was pretty lame to have to sit through 45 minutes of power point presentations on why cdw and emc are so good, just to see the movie. here's a hint, we're already your customers! just show us the d@mn movie! 😛

9pm for me, but its on DLP *drools*</end quote></div>

How much better is DLP than regular projection?

I heard it's not...but I have not seen it first hand myself.

I'm betting a lot of east coast ATOT'ers are an hour into the movie right now.

Me and my buddy are watching it inless than 5 hours! It begins at midnight 😱 and we have to drive like 30 miles each way 😱 😱

I went at 8pm tonight, stay through the first few minutes of the credits if you were like me and...

Just got back from seeing it. Two words:

BAD. ASS.

Easily the most entertaining movie of the year. I just wish there could have been more! Of everything!

I just... I don't know....

There were parts that I really liked, and the comedy was REALLY funny most of the time. I totally cracked up laughing several times in the movie. But there were other times when I felt like the cheese factor was too high. When it was a little campy.

The action was great -- no arguing that. CG was terrific.

Definitely a WTF moment as an IT guy when the l33t hacker dude was working his magic on the PC in his bedroom. Talk about suspension of disbelief there.

On the whole 3/5 stars for me. I won't call it a disappointment, but, as a 32yo I kinda felt like it was more geared to kids in their mid-late teens. Recognizing that that is most certainly the case, it was a pretty good flick, even if it was a little long. I did feel like they could have totally cut the military father storyline completely out and the movie wouldn't have lost anything for me.

Set up for a sequel of course, and there's just no getting around the truth that I'll be at that one too. 🙂

*** THIS MAY HAVE SPOILERS... I WILL TRY NOT TO INCLUDE ANYTHING SPOILERISH ***

I'd rate the movie as lukewarm. I am a fan of the original G1 and I did my best to cast off my desire to see a movie that stuck even remotely true to the original series. If that's what you want, do not even go, this movie is not even close. There is no ship, no teletran 1, the autobots choose their own form (I assume the decepticons do as well).

The issues I had:

1) Too many heroes. Shia was the main character, but then you had the military guy who was your John Rambo whoop-ass character.
2) Too much focus on humans. Transformers is about the robots, the humans add spice. In this movie, it was the reverse.
3) Megan Fox was not naked.

Also, parents, do not buy your children the deluxe super huge mega cup, especially if they undersized bladders. I do not enjoy shifting up and holding myself up using the arm-rests, it's not very comfortable and disturbs my watching experience. I also learned that girls look much older than guys at a younger age. I saw this girl... probably looked 15-16... there was this kid that I thought was her younger brother until I saw him put his arm around her. Either they are a close family, I was teleported to West Virginia or that kid looks young 😛.

I wouldn't even rate him as John Rambo. He fits in to my answer to your next question.

They needed the humans to move the story along. There was barely any plot as there was. Compared to the G1 cartoons though, this was Shakespeare.

The Decepticons needed more developing, I'll give you that. But then, it would have been a 2 and half to 3 hour long movie.

3) Megan Fox was not naked.
I'm sure she will be mostly in the next FHM or whatever.

oh my FREAKING GOD that movie was SSSOOO awesome!

i don't think I've left the theatre this satisfied in a LLLOOONNGGG time if ever.

there were just so many AWESOME parts in this movie and the effects were just unbelievable!

even stevens pulled the part of perfectly and the transformers were on screen A LOT more than I expected!

and to boot ... THE CHICK WAS HOT AS SHlT!!

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

**********SPOILER*******
how come bumble bee could talk all of a sudden at the end? they never explained it.
********END SPOILER*******

I'm still surprised no one has mentioned how annoying the little cd boombox decepticon was, especially considering how cool soundwave was in the cartoons

Going to see it in the morning. To quote Megatron from the 1986 movie... "I would have waited an eternity for this."

Probably will contain spoilers for some, but are there many nods to the Generation 1 show/Movie? Classic lines, etc...?

Saw it. Enjoyed it. Brought back memories. Saw it on digital in a massive theater with hundreds of crazy, cheering fans. Was a lot of fun.

Maybe a tad long. I like a lot of US military hardware demonstrated...though some might argue it was a recruiting piece.

Edit: I can certainly understand the PG-13 rating, especially with mom and dad walking in and mentioning the m-word...of course there is some violence...and naughty looks at Megan Fox.

I had a blast. Highly recommend seeing it if you simply want to be entertained and hear the awesomeness that is Peter Cullen's voice work.

Cullen is Prime. I'm glad that he signed on for the movie. Prime is not the same without that voice.

I was a little disappointed to hear that Frank Welker wouldn't be Megatron, but the new voice fits the new design better than the old voice. Although as much as they had to work on Hugo's voice to get it to sound like that, Welker could have probably done it.

Nice! Glad to see they referenced the old show in the new movie.

While I've heard it's not very good, remember the game based on the movie has Welker doing the voice-acting for Megatron, at least.
