I think I'll be rooting for Eugene too, he's sort of an underdog type, but very resourceful.

i feel like if it had been up to tom/gail/padma instead of those girls on the today show, fabio would've won that challenge.

Jamie made a good dish but failed to reproduce it on camera. She also did a poor job of handling the oncooked egg on camera.

Melissa made an inedible dish but completed her segment. She made the additional mistake of defending the habanero

Alex chose to make a dish that cannot be completed in an hour. I can't remember if he completed his segment or not.

Despite the decision on the winner, the judges chose primarily on the food. As Colichio says, it's a cooking competition. They all blew it, but the food speaks the loudest. On that (and imho prior performance) Janie got a pass. So who made the bigger mistake. Choosing too hot of an ingredient or choosing a dish impossible to complete. Melissa made a lame attempt at throwing Alex under the bus without seeming to do so, but ultimately, the guy who made the bigger "chef" mistake went home.

So you stand by that dish?

Yes

OK, here are 20 things wrong with it. Do you still like that dish?

Yes

Please pack your knives and go.

OMG, I can't believe they picked me...

Really?

finally watched it.

wtf at arianne winning, miss india should've won

and relieved eugene wasn't sent home, but srsly, Mr. New York killed himself at the judges table. he just repeatedly hammered the nail in his own coffin by defending the dish.

I've seen previous seasons, so maybe I'm just not smart enough to have realized it until now. Why is this show called Top Chef when the thing that can get them eliminated each week would be more aptly named Top Caterer? It is becoming rather ridiculous. The only test of actually useful chef skills have been the quickfire challenges.
