lots don't wear the full body suit for the fly because it supposedly restricts some motion required for the fly...

if you made sure to take note while watching all his races you'd see how he often wore the full body suit for other events such as the freestyle relays

I wish NBC would stop trying to make Ian Thorpe look like Satan. His main point was the morning swims combined with how many swims Phelps was doing would make it hard to sweep the golds. That's it. They're making it sound like Thorpe bet on his life that Phelps couldn't do it.

I can see Phelps taking it the wrong way, swimming skills aside he's got the intelligence of a particularly clever African Grey parrot. But you'd think NBC would exercise a modicum of restraint and stop attempting to blatantly take Thorpe's quote out of context.

He had a huge lead to the final shot and he opted to shoot a 4.4 out of 11.
This is the same guy that shot the wrong target at the final shot in last olympic to give away his gold medal.

Wow, 4.4? Looks like no one else even got under 9 who mattered. He must have been drunk or stupid or something.

I don't even get Usain Bolt..... he'd have gone SO MUCH faster if he hadn't started celebrating before crossing the finish line. I mean, he raises his arms, yells, and POUNDS HIS CHEST!!! WTF?? It apparently can't wait til later.......

Out of curiosity, what are you basing this on? Personal opinion?

Kind of curious about that myself. Unless he was talking about Ian Thorpe. 😉

still looks like he posted the 2nd highest score...maybe he was trying to show off by purposefully making it more dramatic and still win but took it too far 😛

either way I'd say he's pretty screwed up...

this guy better not screw up though in the finals, we need more gold!

Probably based on the interviews, which isn't really fair. What is someone supposed to say when they get asked brilliant questions like "SO HOW DOES IT FEEL TO WIN A GOLD MEDAL?"

Uhhhh... good?

You basically have two choices, you can either give them a simple answer or be seen as a dick and tell them that it's a silly question.

LOL I was doing facepalms the entire week at that lady interviewer's stupid stupid questions. The athletes all probably hate her.

The lamest was this one after the utterly incredible win in the 4x100 relay, when lezak owned france:
stupid lady interviewer: "so who has the last word now?"
Garrett Weber-Gale: (looks a bit stoned, still smiling, yet perplexed at the stupid question, tries his best to answer in a slightly "wtf" tone of voice): "uhhh..we do...the united states of america.."
Garrett Weber-Gale: (smile completely disappears as he really really wants to give himself a facepalm at the utterly lame exchanged that just took place, tarnishing his awesome gold medal forever).
stupid lady interviewer: "..so phelps, how did this feel to......."
*Dantmwtmp changes channel to discovery channel*

lol i just love how the US team acts like friggin cavemen when they won each of the swim relays hahahaha. I donno who it was, but someone on the US team just palm-slaps Phelp's tits and both just celebrate in unison. LOL.
http://www.nbcolympics.com/greatamericanmoments/ <--- the latest 4x100 @ around 4:20 hahahaha.

epic question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/quest...=20080814230718AAySfMG

Phelps is a DOLPHIN wtf...
I can't seem to find the article, but my friend sent me an article from a Chinese sports writer.

The translation went something like this:
The sports writer was sitting next to this eldery chinese wiseman that seemed to have mystic powers.

After Phelps received yet another gold medal, the ancient Chinese wiseman turned to the reporter and said, "after much calculations and analysis of the facial and body structure of Michael Phelps, I have figured out who he was in his previous life. He was, indeed a dolphin. The sports writer almost spat his drink at the ancient man due to laughter, disbelief, and (most importantly) the epiphany that Michael Phelps was indeed, a Dolphin.

   to Phelps and the USA Men's Swim Team.. you guys are Gold Dominators!

  to Dara and the USA Women's Swim Team.. you ladies broke the American record and are world-class champions!

 to Dixx for Bronze in the 100M, a pleasant surprise and great American achievement!
