There's really no need to bicker over details, what happened happened and nothing can change that.

Responding to Warcleric's thoughts on bad luck, I have to disagree. In recent years NASCAR has tried to make the cars as equal as possible to satisfiy the fans and the manufacturers. I don't know for sure but I think only recently NASCAR started using windtunnel tests to make the cars as aerodynaimcally similar as posssible. Same car shape + same engine type = very close racing. I'm not trying to point fingers or start a debate - just stating facts.

I was never a huge NASCAR or Earnhardt fan but I attribute him as the one person that got me to start watching racing. Today watching race events of all kinds brings me more joy than I can say...and I owe almost all of that to Dale Earnhardt.

CNN ran some incredible footage of Dale a few years ago being interviewed at his farm in N.C. He walked around showing off his horses, chickens, thousands of boxes of fan mail, and his race shop. I don't care what anybody says - this guy was a great person and an incredible role model. My prayers go out to everybody that is suffering from his death.

Three days later and I'm still shocked. I have grown up cheering the #3 almost every Sunday. The idea of not seeing Dale climb into his car this Sunday to battle it out just doesn't seem real. I cried when I heard this news and I know it will continue to upset me for a long time to come. I still havn't forgotten Davey Allison's death back in '93. Every time I see the #28 I still think of him. Dale's death is 1000 times worse of a hit to me than that was.
Will NASCAR go on? Yes, but it will never be the same for me.🙁🙁🙁

Thanks Big "E"..

If you do a search for "Earnhardt" on Napster, there are several good tribute mixes. They were playing a few on the radio this morning.
