Hm Heath's family held up somehow, I was getting sad just seeing everyone in the audience teared up.

ah, don't dog him. His performance was brilliant, especially when noting his previous acting gigs. It was an awesome character that was ramped up to insanity by Ledger.
Definitely deserved it. In fact, it was the only Award I even tuned it to watch - roomies got it on one of the tvs, so I knew it was on from my room. Don't give a damn about any of the other nominations, but Ledger definitely deserved that one.

I'd agree with you if I hadn't watched 'the dark night'. I thought that HL was being hyped up because they wanted to create another James Dean especially after Brokeback Mountain. I thought HL was pretty damn awesome and downright scary in that movie.
 
I'm now officially to the point that I don't want to see Slumdog Millionaire just because I'm tired of hearing about it.
