My God, Longoria was on fire yesterday.

Yeah, he forgot that he's a rookie. Good to see that Carl Crawford get in on the action as well.

Well that and he was facing Vazquez who is horrible. Now I'm not guaranteeing a win or anything, but we'll have much better pitching in the next 2-4 games.

Vazquez is the first pitcher since Steve Carlton in 83 who started game 1 of a playoff series after having 16 losses during the year. Not that I'm comparing Vazquez to Carlton. 🙂

There's no doubt the next 3 Sox pitchers (Buerhle, Danks, and Floyd) are much better. Nobody predicted a sweep. I just was pointing out how Evan played well for a rookie and Carl (who was out of the lineup until just recently) got to contribute. I'm also happy that they didn't choke in their first playoff game.

I just want the Rays to win at home while they can because their record is so much better there.

Well it aint looking good now for the Sox. Can't win if we don't score runs. I wish that we had our 2 all stars playing.

yep, if we have a healthy team, we are in and probably winning the WS. Next year should be even better.

And I also can't stand the 20,000 bandwagon, cowbell slamming fans at that horrible park.

As I said at the first wild card game after the Bucs finally started winning under Tony Dungy: Bandwagon fans welcome. At least they were all wearing Rays gear. 😛

And since the Rays had the best home record, AFAIC it's Dome Sweet Dome. 😀

So how 'bout them Rays?? On to the ALCS they go. Good for them!

I personally hope Cliff Floyd hits a few homers during the next series as he's a personal fav player of mine when he was with the Mets.

Congrats to the Rays!!! 🙂

I was also lucky enough to get tix to the ALCS. Now, I have to find a cheap ticket to Tampa. If I don't get one, stay tuned for a new FS/T thread. 🙂

Welp, what do you guys think now? After that last night's performance, and after getting nothing but "It'll be a different story in Fenway, BITCH!" from Sox fans I'm pretty stoked. 9-2 is pretty solid, lots of homers, lots of Sox fans going home early. I'm content with that. Wakefield v. Sonny tonight. Should be a great game.... again.

I wasn't too surprised by last night. Wakefield hasn't been great against TB this year and Sonny has been great against Boston. However, I didn't expect the 13-4 drubbing. It probably would have been a closer score if Masterston could've gone longer. He's been pitching great against TB.

I love how all you tampa bay ray's fans are scrambling to get your longoria jerseys now. Way to fill up the seats. I can't wait for the first 4 game losing streak next year so I can see the stadium back at 9% capacity.

Wow. What a witty original comment! You should be a joke writer for Carlos Mencina.

lawlz, good one. Although a Boston fan who is a bandwagoner is a good thing because it means they're NOT a NYY fan.

and in the spirit of that you could also call any NYY fan a bandwagoner Ray's fan. because we root for any team going up against Boston.

Show me a team that finishes in last place for 10 years and I'll show you an empty stadium.

Hats off to the Phils. If there was anyone I wanted to lose this series to, its to a team that struggled just as hard as we did to get there. Great year.

The Rays had this cinderalla story building in the AL East. Something big, something amazing. But unfortunately they were blindsided by a paralell cinderella story, The Phils, happening in the NL.

I'm rediculously proud of The Rays this year. Rediculously proud of the Phils, and baseball as well.
