edit: you are dead on with the ESB label and the beers demise. That label brings back some memories for sure, and has always been one of my all time favorite beer labels. Now days, you can tell Redhooks label and packaging have suffered some marketing and branding departments douchebaggery after they were acquired by some Macro. You can instantly recognize Redhook packaging despite the style, the fonts and their locations are all the same, just coloring and words change if that makes sense.

And I think that label is a throwback version--I recall the real label being more hand-drawn and simple, without the borders.

By "Seahawks country" I meant that according to NFL policy, same with Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. I apologize for the confusion, I should have been more clear.

I don't follow the NBA, but ever since the Sonics were stolen, Seattle is probably considered "Blazers country" by the NBA for the same reasons.

I stopped watching the NBA around the time Payton left for the Lakers. The Nate McMillan, Payton, Kemp, Schrempf, Hersey Hawkins Supersonics...man, that team was my jam!

Did you just write all that and forget about the most dynamic athlete on the field, Percy Harvin? Uhh. Name one person on Denver that can cover him. Doh. At least you mentioned how bad Seattle's pass blocking (yet forgot they equally abysmal run blocking - both in the mid 20's grading per PFF). Between Wilson, Lynch, and Harvin they have gamebreaking ability at any given moment just like Denver. The only difference is that Denver has a superior O-Line, but hopefully Seattle's brilliant pass coverage (Maxwell and Sherman in the top 10 in the league) can neutralize that. Not to mention their OLB's Smith and Irvin are #11/12 in pass coverage.

I don't think Denver is going to have that many targets against Seattle. Welker isn't man enough to get serious separation from a big DB and Demaryius Thomas is going to see the majority of the double coverage. Julius Thomas is going to be a good match up against one of Seattle's LBs or Chancellor and Decker is going to be the best target to throw to, IMO.

I think Seattle is going to really force Manning to make very accurate throws (which he is very capable of, but, as with everyone, not perfect). I just don't see Seattle shutting down Manning the entire game. Denver will put up some points. Seattle is going to have to play good on offense (or some lucky defensive scores) to win this one.

Should be a really good game though. I can't wait.

I think things could go sideways for Denver’s offense. I think we have as much chance as seeing the Manning face on the sidelines as we do the Star Wars offense. Here is how I could potentially see how the wheels on the bus fall off. The TLDR Cliff Notes: Seattle will mug Denver’s receivers (see: Patriots vs. Rams 2002) and pressure Manning (see: Giants vs. Patroits 2007). All-Everything offenses have been halted before, and Seattle is every bit as good as those Patriot (2002) and Giant defenses (2007).

#1 Weather. The cold will slow Manning some. The wind will make the ducks a little less accurate.

#2 Deep Balls. The weather, in conjunction with Manning’s arm, would result in floaters off target. You don’t throw those with Earl Thomas back there.

#3 Rhythm. Seattle corners are going to press, jam, and ::cough::hold::hold:: at the line and disrupt Denver timing routes.

#4 Time. Manning usually has a lot of time to throw. Seattle has a very good 4 man pass rush. Typically Manning can defuse this with his quick passes and hot reads. The quick passes are going to be gummed up by press coverage. The hot reads will be less enticing as Seattle doesn’t have mismatches and doesn’t need to blitz to get to Manning. Him throwing 0.5 seconds slow could result in more pressure and mistakes.

#5. Matchups. Unlike most opponents where Denver has a massive edge in offensive personnel Seattle throws out 3 All-Pro defensive backs in Thomas, Sherman, and Chancelor. Maxwell, Thurmond, and Lane are all excellent corners who would be one of the two starting corners on ANY other NFL squad. And their linebackers—Wright, Wagner, Irvin, and backup Malcum Smith (who had a INT returned for a TD and was the dude who picked Kaepernick on the Sherman deflection)—are the best pass covering linebackers unit in the league. Denver doesn’t have a matchup advantage against this pass defense. And some of the cute stuff, like rubs/picks, won’t work well against Seattle’s big defenders.

#6 Mind games. Manning is a nice guy, great story, but above all else is a Jedi Master of picking apart teams with his mind. But Seattle is going to neutralize this by turning the table. This will be the true test of whether defense, or offense wins championships! I'm in the defense camp. Keep in mind Seattle was also missing time from their superstar Irvin (out 1st 4 weeks) so total QB pressures should be slightly higher. More importantly for Denver, their Run Defense is falsely inflated because of Von Miller's 7 spectacular run D games - he's by far their best run stopper and won't be available. Nobody is even close to Von Miller's +18 grade over 7 games, for reference it took Knighton and Ayers an entire season to amass a +11 rating against the run. It's akin to Cincinatti losing Geno Atkins (+13) after 7 games and the next closest guy against the run was Johnson at +3. Yes, Von Miller is that big of a loss and I expect Beast Mode to bust some big chunks here and there despite his shitty run blocking OLine - Lynch has proven that an OLine is optional and only needs to get one lucky block for him to kill it.

Really the only impressive win for Denver against a top 10 defense was the first game against the Chiefs when Justin Houston (monster +9.4 in that game alone) had 3 QB hurries on Manning and yet Denver still pulled it out. Denver winning at KC wasn't all that impressive without Houston. Keep in mind that while those were hard fought games for Denver, Seattle's defense is head and shoulders above KC. Twice as good a pass rush and 6X as good pass coverage, to be exact. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by Seattle's defense against the "invincible" juggernaut vaunted Bronco's offense.

All in all this SB has the pedigree to top even last year's great drama.

I am pulling for the Seahawks well, because they've never won a SB before, and I always pull for a city and fans that have never brought that home.

Part of NFL trying to spread its seed wherever it can. The Redskins logo makes sense, too, because what does the world think when they think the USA? Cowboys and Indians. And it's not like the Chinese are going to complain about the Redskins controversy...
