Boring super-bowl. The only back-stories are the coaches and some tattoos.

Eh. You've got one QB that has been eternally scorned by his fans and the sports media in general taking his team through the playoffs and knocking off both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady along the way.

Then another QB that was barely a blip on the radar taking the helm of a pre-season SB favorite halfway through the season. That decision was scrutinized for weeks by many. And the kid went on to set a rushing record against GB in the 2nd week of the playoffs and seems to get better every week he plays.

Then add in the Ray Lewis retirement tour hooplah and Baltimores end of the season nosedive and many questioning if they even have a playoff win in them.

There's plenty to talk about.

Guess I'll be rooting Ravens. I can't stand this man.

The NFL needs to start penalizing coaches and players who constantly behave like they are 7 years old. I've seen so many games get out of hand in the past few years, and it is largely because of earlier unchecked anger issues in my opinion.

Jim can't handle the call and over-reacts? 5 yard penalty. Does it again? Ejection from the game.

That was basically how a 5 year old acts when he does not get his way. That was just pathetic

Or, and I am just guessing here, maybe it's just a normal reaction when you can't honestly believe that particular review didn't end up overturning the call on the field.

Only in Jim's world is that a normal reaction. I've seen him do similarly insane childish tantrums on perfectly good calls by the refs ever since he's been a head coach. The guy is ridiculous and needs to be fined for his actions. Don't get me wrong, this seems to be coming close to the norm in the NFL, he's just one of the most flagrant.

Just like with a small child, it needs to be nipped in the bud before this completely engulfs the pathetic culture of football.

No, that is not a normal reaction. That call could have gone either way because the evidence was not indisputable. It just so happened that it went against his way.

i'm a packer fan and i've always held the highest regards for the 49ers. but, i think kaepernick's arrogance is going to get in the way of his performance in the upcoming superbowl.
that said, i think baltimore is going to come out on top.

I agree with this also.

I thought that was hilarious but like you said EXTREMELY childish.

Woo woo. Love football so much. 49ers win by double digits!

Both the Ravens and 49ers have looked really bad at times during the regular season. Ravens are on a NY Giants type hot-streak but Kaepernick can beat you from the pocket and/or on his feet (yes I've come around on Kaepernick even though I really disagreed with the Alex Smith benching at first). I hope we see more of the running Kaepernick in the Superbowl, he didn't run at all against the Falcons.

Bring on the Harbaughwl! (that won't get old insanely fast)

Not sure why you think that this type of emotion is a bad thing. Are you a Detroit fan or something?

I disagree. When viewing the replays it certainly looked like the ball was moving when it hit the ground. Even if his hand was under part of the ball, if the ball is moving in his hands and physically contacts the ground it should have been ruled an incomplete pass. I really didn't think there was a chance for the call to go either way and was just as shocked as he was that it did.

Ultimately, sports are entertainment. Jim Harbaugh is entertaining.

C'mon...as a sports coach you have to care intensely about things that make absolutely no difference to society a decade later...what kind of person do you think that's going to attract?

You also have a rule that if the player had possession of the ball prior to hitting the ground, the result of hitting the ground jarring the ball loose will kill the play at the spot. That he had possession prior to hitting the ground is certainly debatable but not enough to overturn the call on the field.

Close call, as a Niners fan I can see why it wasn't over turned. It was ruled a catch, not enough to show it wasn't.

Game was razor close, SB on the line. I'm glad he's that passionate about winning.
