That thing looks like it'd be great if you lapped it. A lapping kit costs like....five bucks, If I recall correctly.

Worse than Scythe Ninja. Check the madshrimps article. They compared those two side by side. Ninja has more spaced out aluminum fins and therefore dissipates heat better. For fins that are close together, it's better to use a fan.

That's good to know. I was thinking of doing a passive heatsink

Installing this thing was a bear. I basically couldn't do it using the springs with the screws. Remove the springs and I was able to get it screwed down. Anyone else have this problem?

Socket 939. You remove the standard MB HS retainer and screw a metal clip-that sits on the contact copper slab-into the MB.

It's a royal pain in the ass to install, but keeps my cpu @ stock rather frigid (I've been too busy to o/c). It's fairly loud, though, even at very low fan settings.

Back in stock at svc, xpcgear and petra's. just ordered one from svc and it's gonna be here tomorrow with the cheapest shipping!

Also, how is it a pain to install?
thanks 🙂

i installed one on a aw9d-max and it was no problem at all!

the bottom of the tuniq will come VERY VERY close to touching the NB heatsink but has just enough clearance.
