At least in Rift, there's stuff to do @50. In SWTOR, there really isn't much to do. You don't even get the luxury of doing the same stuff over and over.

1. Raid ops (2 hours weekly, 8 gaming hours per month unless your guild is new)
2. PvP
3. Waste time getting groups for "hard mode" flashpoints that yield nothing of value unless you're not raiding (and even then, it's pointless).
4. Dailies that don't mean anything.
5. Reroll to have another toon capable of just doing 1-4.

My entire guild, save 3-4 people quit the game until 1.2 drops. Downside is we'll all play hard to farm the heck out of the new ops for 2-3 weeks then leave again as nothing of value is being added unless you want to keep playing new alts for legacy crap. This is assuming at least 8 of us come back. They really need to add something to do: rep grinds, better stuff in the flashpoints, rare world drops, events, invasions, anything.

Also waiting 6-8 months for cross server pvp and instance groups. 😉

Uhhh, what exactly is there to do more so in most other MMORPGs? Max level is all about "finishing" your champ through raids or PVP. It's all a grindfest once you reach the top to show off how big your shoulder pads are (I'm using a simile here).

I just reached level 40 with my primary character and I was playing since beta 🙂 I did in beta do a massive run to go from level 1 to 41 in a single weekend to see if I could. But with release I've been taking it slow. I actually go through all the dialog options. I am enjoying the story and doing every quest. I plan to do the same thing with any alts as well, although I will probably skip over some of the filler quests I've already done with the alts. Reaching max level in a couple of weeks from level 1 in this game is easy and no real feat. Doing everything there is to do takes a bit more time. If the only things you are interested in doing are Ops, then this game doesn't have all that much to give you in that regards at level 50 anymore. Now if you want to finish all quests, get all lore objects, get all datacrons, explore every inch of every map then you are going to have a ton of stuff to do while also completing dailies, ops, and pvp. That doesn't even include going through all the story lines for both sides with alts.

Don't blame the game for your limited scope of fun.

getting all the datacrons is quite a bit of work. i and a friend have been working on that for a few weeks (sometimes a couple of other friends as well). just as we have time. it's a lot of traveling, a lot of jumping and a lot of falling off very high places and dying. some of them require a bit of patience (i'm looking at you hoth crates and tatooine balloon). it's been a TON of fun tho. still dont have all of them, but only 2 left.

here are a few screenies from my favorite ones to get. 😀

Corellia - this one is crazy to get to, but cool once you get there.

Corellia - by far the most fun one to get. you have to wait for a looooong time to ride up this broken elevator, and then at the top is an explosive barrel. you basically have to explode yourself to fly across the void. hilarious to do with friends.

Voss - dunno why, but the dreamstate missions and this datacron just looked so frikkin cool to me.

Nar Shadda - riding the droid around was pretty funny. plus, Nar Shadda looks pretty awesome anyway.

Alderaan - a datacron just chillin in a big nest...lol.

I got every one up till taris where you needed 2 people so I would remember where I stopped to go back and get them later (except for the voss dream one which I stumbled on by accident.)

Other MMOs I have played always had something to do at 50.. Even if it was as simple as camping a rare spawn for a rare drop. At least it was something that had a worthwhile reward. In SWTOR, there is nothing. OPs and PvP are the only things that reward you at 50, ops are completed in 1 night, PvP is a struggle when Qs take 15-20 mins and frequently end early due to lack of players. Even when the PvP is active, the lack of map variety gets tiresome.

Really how hard could it have been to make 3+ different Huttball arenas? Maybe if they spent a little less effort on the single player part of this MMO (aka levels 1-49), there would have been a lot more to do to actually keep more active subs. My guild once had 25-30 people on at regular hours. Now it's down to an average of 5 and frequently I'm the only one on.

It was waaaaaaaaaay too easy to level and simply because you could do it entirely solo was a shock to me.

I guess if you are a completionist then there is plenty to do, but I'm not and never have been. If I'm gonna spend hours upon hours I want something to show(off) for it.

now here's a WTF moment. doing the ship class quest after voss, and at several points I talk to a companions on hologram, and for some reason they've all been nekkid (except holiday -boo). weird.

I think that happens if you do things non-sequentially? (and either have companions the game isn't expecting you do have or vice versa)

You have some odd expectations of a new game, given the scale of TOR. Do you have all the holocron's? I can't provide an answer for your queues, but that sounds like a population issue which will be resolved with 1.2.

As for PvP maps - look at how many WoW had when it started. What about DAoC? WH:O? Rift? Extra content takes time - roll a new class and have fun in it's story.

Ha ha, yes. I had that same bug. I think everyone does.

finished it, at some point I talk to every one I have and a couple non-companion companions. all except holiday and the eshkha were in there underwear including nadia that you talk to at the very end.

No I don't have all the datacrons. Why would anyone? Unless you have some class I don't know about that uses all stats.. I got only the ones that pertained to my class. I'm not going to get Aim/Str/Will as a Smuggler, so there really isn't that many datacrons. Exclude the presence ones that don't really matter too and there are even less. I never understand why people always bring this up as if it's a whole bunch of content. Not to mention some of them were extreeeeeemly boring. Sitting and waiting for an extremely slow moving platform to jump on? Yay what excitement.

I wouldn't know about Wow, DAoC, WH:O, Rift PVP as I never played them.

Like I said, too much single-player, not enough multi-player. Roll a new class?.... It was fun leveling up and the story was good, but I started this MMO to play an MMO. I have lots of single player games that don't charge me monthly.

i got almost all the datacrons...i did it because it was a challenge and because i was doing it with friends. which made it fun. and 'something to do at level 50'. obviously i don't need all the stats and yes, some of them took some patience. but i was doing it with people that i like to game with. we would laugh when someone fell off a high cliff. we would encourage each other when someone couldnt make that one stupid jump. we killed some pubes, we saw places we hadnt been to before. see, the thing is, stuff is only fun if you make it fun. there are things to do with other people if you want. don't like leveling solo? grab a friend and do it together. see each other's storylines, laugh at things together.

if you dislike the game that much, then idk, stop paying/playing? there are plenty of people i am sure who feel like you do, which is why fewer people are playing the game. but there are plenty of people who are making the game what they want it to be as well. you get out of the game what you put in to it.

You would do it because you want something to do, and for the challenge. And if you have nothing to compare it to, then you have no basis - you just have expectations that are, unfortunately for you, too high. The amount of content in the game is adequate, and them adding anything less than 6 months in hasn't been done by anyone else before (when looking at the 1.2 patch.)

He has a point (Unk that is). If you're *finding* stuff to do because, well you just sorta don't have anything better to do and not because you WANT to that's an issue. Datacrons are a good example. Travelling all over the world, watching those long ass load times, the long speeder times, the wait times for a number the datacrons (tat for example) not a lot of people find that fun. I'm sure some do, and of course if you're in a group with friends that would help as well. But at the end of the day you are sinking a large amount of time into an activity that provides very little (if any in the terms of exploration) benefit. And isn't fun to boot. Saying that "well you're not trying to experience the content cause you don't want to chase datacrons" is a little shortsighted.

We started as a handful of players that were all friends. One had unsubbed already. I'm unsubbing when my billing cycle restarts (so I can at least test 1.2). The others are still having fun (I think). That's a 50% retention rate.

as i said, if that's not the type of thing TheUnk wants to do, then he should quit playing. i'm not saying because i like chasing datacrons, everyone else should. he questioned why anyone would want to get them all. i was merely stating my reasons for why i did.

but, i'm also not saying there is anything wrong with the game. as with any game you play, if you aren't having fun, stop playing it. every game has a point where you run out of things to do. unfortunately for him, he hit that point. he should stop playing. there is no 'issue'.

That wasn't particularly directed at you.. more the "well you haven't done EVERYTHING so you have no right to complain about lack of content" crowd.

My contention is that doing something for lack of anything better doesn't count as content.

You and I have far different expectations/goals when it comes to these sort of things. neither of which is more or less right than the other. But, people are unsubbing. And that's an issue for the people who aren't.

My comparisons are to EQ1 (when it first came out) and FFXI. Both of which I never had problems finding things to do at any level. This is the only MMO I have played in the past 5 or so years and it's turning out to be a big let down.

Oh well, spring is finally here =p

Since you indicated that your guild was copied over to the test server can you find out how badly the combat medic nerf was?

I have not played a combat medic, but the officers decided we aren't bringing them into HMs anymore. From what they have said, the burst took a big hit and that is the reason we used them in the first place.

Just seems so big of a nerf and it seems like we would barely heal any better than someone who only went 1-2 tiers into the healing tree.

I don't honestly know enough about the class mechanics to speak with anything resembling authority, the nerf is bad enough that we are swapping to operative healers, previously we never ran any operative healers. Things could change before they go live, they do do that on a regular basis in MMOs, the way it stands now I would think they must.

I use only a few abilities while fighting. Saber Strike (when out of force to do some damage while force regens), Lacerate (for AoE), Stun, Shock, Discharge (AoE and debuff). That's pretty much the abilities I use constantly.

I have an assassin tank, Wither and Crushing Darkness aren't on your list why? Wither is just insanely OP, an AOE ability that is your second highest damage ability for *single* target mobs most of the time(Crushing Darkness is your highest).

At least in Rift, there's stuff to do @50.

I was playing Rift for quite some time before ToR, the guild I was in dropped Akylios. What exactly was there to do in Rift that isn't in ToR? Even after they added planar experience, it's comparable to Legacy.

1. Raid ops (2 hours weekly, 8 gaming hours per month unless your guild is new)

Your guild clears Nightmare mode in both ops in two hours? I thought the best in the world was closer to 4....

4. Dailies that don't mean anything.

BiS for three item slots don't mean anything to you? What exactly are you looking for?

Also waiting 6-8 months for cross server pvp and instance groups.

I hope it never happens. It kills the community in every game it enters.

Other MMOs I have played always had something to do at 50

I have a bunch of MMOs under my belt, what is missing in ToR? Rare spawns with rare drops are in the game, HM small group content is in the game, raids are in the game, open world and isntanced pvp is in the game, what exactly is it that you are not seeing?

It was waaaaaaaaaay too easy to level and simply because you could do it entirely solo was a shock to me.

ToR was certainly far more challenging then Rift or WoW to level in. Both of those games you could grab 15-20 mobs at a time and just AoE your way to max level in a very short period of time(Mage/Druid in WoW, Mage/Cleric in Rift).

Like I said, too much single-player, not enough multi-player.

You don't want to do hard modes, you don't want to do the daily heroic group quests, you don't want to go after any of the numerous world bosses and you do one difficulty level of operation content and you say there isn't enough multiplayer..... If you did the same thing in Rift there would be *no* multiplayer at all.

Both of which I never had problems finding things to do at any level.

You seem to be going out of your way to avoid what there is to do. If that is the approach you want to take, perhaps you should just avoid the game altogether. They put the content in, you ignore it, then complain it isn't there. Not a lot else that can be done.

Uhh there are no rare spawns.. Every spawn is always the same. No placeholders or anything like that.

I've done all hard mode FPs and Ops, world bosses and daily heroics. Many of the heroics can even be done solo.

My server while leveling up you would rarely run into other people who were interested to do any planet 4+ heroic. Even finding groups for FPs on the fleet was a challenge.

There is absolutely no point in doing a HM FP once you do an Ops a couple times, and if you are doing HM ops then it's 100% not worth it.

You can try all you want but you are blind if you can't see how single-player oriented the majority of this "MMO" is.

For every match like the Huttball tie we lost because our carrier decided to try to score with 30s remaining, there's a win like the Civil War we had this afternoon. Can't buy a second cap, down past the double score point, almost about to give up, then... we ninja right. Somehow draw out the five defenders from mid turret and ninja that... but we've just lost right again. Somehow the other team decides they want to grab mid back immediately and bumrush it, so I rush right, there's only one defender -- three-cap -- win. Awesome. They must have been raging, too.

hahaha, I love rounds like that. We had a similar one in huttball. Down 3-1 for almost the entire match, just not getting any play on the ball. In the last 60 seconds or so they decide to turtle by their own pit. Coordinated buff and zerg the ball carrier, pass up to someone waiting by the last fire hazard, 3-2. Someone grabs the reset, runs into the goal w/o being touched since all of them are still locked on the other side of the map. 3-3. Repub picks up the reset with 3 seconds left on the clock. we win.

Woot! They fixed the "can't re-add security key after removing it" bug. So I just swapped my old phone for my new one as the key device.

Still gotta phone them to get the original removed, though. Dial 855-467-9867 and then hit 1 for English, 2 for Account Support, 2 for Account Security, and finally 5 to Speak to a Billing Agent. Should be less than five minutes if you remember your security questions.

Just canceled my sub. The free month runs out on 3/31 and I can't see any reason to keep paying for this game. I wanted to play an MMO, not a single player game with some occasional chat.
