I'm considering this game. Long time WoW player. I like wow because the character movements are very smooth and feel real. I can't stand games that aren't like that, Lord of the Rings, for example was very bad in this way.

Can you tell me how Star Wars is in terms of character movement and the feel when fighting. Is it clunky at all? Thanks.

I find the character movement to be very smooth overall, though the jumping animations could use some work and NEVER EVER /dance.

Fighting, especially with light sabers, is very nice. They actually show you and the thing you're fighting (if it has a melee weapon) blocking blows. If you have a light saber and are fighting ranged creatures you'll occasionally see yourself deflecting shots as well, it's one of the more immersive fighting animation systems I've seen. Agents also use cover when fighting so you'll see them diving behind rocks/walls/crates to attack or using a personal half-height force-field for cover.

Sounds great. I think I'm going to try it!

This is one of my biggest pet peeves in MMO's. One of the reasons I always kept going back to WoW over some of the other MMOs. I would say that TOR isn't quite to the same level as WoW, but it's the closest I've seen. As mentioned jumping is the biggest offender in TOR, but the rest of the animations are pretty much spot on.

Any Origin orders get emails with full product codes yet? Or is the code on Origin for my DD actually THE code?

edit - nm, just checked preorder email and it's the same as my preorder code, so no

I just got a separate e-mail (like 30 seconds ago) from Origin with the serial code saying my product is now available and it's a different number.

Dumb question. I turned in a quest and my inventory was full, so it didn't give me my item or XP. Clearing out my inventory and clicking on the quest giver again doesn't give me the reward. How do I claim it?

If you turn in a quest and inventory is full, after you clear it out at the top right corner is a blinking "Pending" I think click it and it will pop the box to chose your reward.

Fedex shows my CE box out for delivery today. Just watching it like a hawk to see when they leave it on my door step so I can take my "lunch" then and run home to pick it up.

Got my CE box yesterday, big box lol anyway got my statue on display which looks cool and was not broken like I heard from some other owners.

I have yet to encounter a queue on The Twin Spears (East coast PVP). I chose a server with a non-awesome name that had medium population when I signed up mid-day yesterday. If you choose one that was already higher population and/or had a cool name you're probably screwed. I would switch servers.

I forgot my one big complaint with the animations. At longer distances they skip frames of the animation where it goes from smooth to 15fps or something like that. So you'll see players, creatures, holo-dancers, etc... at range doing the herky-jerky. If you played DoaC they did something similar.

I had early access from virtually day 1 so population was low back then but its a PvE server in Europe called "The Red Eclipse" probably the most popular PvE European English server, plus it 7.45pm here so all those getting home from work etc..weekend is here...I get good pings ie 25ms to 50ms so can't complain when I get in 🙂.
