doesn't surprise me that Sith Inquisitors are so popular... imho, they're the easiest to play of all the Jedis (at least sorcerers).
Yeah, but my point wasn't about the Sorc but the Arsenal Merc, which is the real two-button spec...

I got pissed off at my agent at level 30, so I shelved him. It just felt like everything was a struggle and too much work, and it's not like I was getting any help from Kaliyo.

I had a 17 BH that was stuck at the droid factory, but I got help from some friendly, higher-level guildies. Since then, I have been roflstomping everything in my path. It's so easy that I feel like I am cheating. I've been barely using any med packs, and I don't even need Heroic Moment to take out golds.

The only thing bad about it is that I feel like I am part of the mass of Imp BH shooter noobs. Oh well, at least I'm not a Sith.

the legacy race announcement is making me feel like I should go back to leveling my Chiss Sniper... I haven't managed to get a single character past level 25, though.

really? man, i was pretty compelled by my BH class story line. i skipped a ton of side quests and heroics just so i could get my class quest done and find out what was going to happen next! it made me bust my butt to get leveled to be able to continue the story.

my alts, not so much so far, but im leveling with someone else a lot more this time around and so we are usually too busy goofing around. :p

Well, to be fair, normal levelling feels exceedingly easy almost no matter what you play/do :p

I'd agree for consular sage and trooper (commando).

Gunslinger was much harder as of level 25, partly because Corso isn't great and without full cover you're pretty fragile. I'm hoping a geared-up Bowdar as melee tank fixes that.

Guardian was mostly fine up through 40 (where I am now), but the lack of a healer until you get Doc made it harder than it should have been. If they'd given you a choice between shadow and sage for Kira (perhaps based on your advanced class) it would have been perfect.

BH + Smuggler -- the two classes that I haven't played (though I do have a Trooper and Imperial Agent)

I actually created a Bounty Hunter this morning, but hearing a non-Imperial voice coming out of a Chiss sounded really weird to me. I never realized before that voices were based on class, not race.

I've really enjoyed BH storyline as well; I think the whole kind of 'motley crue' feel to it is pretty cool. The story also went where I didn't really expect it to, but I also know jack all about Star Wars.

I also like the crew characters much more than on my sorc; Inquisitor crew is kind of bland, Andronikos/Khem/Xalek are all really kind of similar (dark/violent sort of theme, though Khem's companion quests open him up a bit) and Ashara is cool but could use a bit more development. Talos I think is hilarious though - splendid!

The only downside to BH so far is Torian who is about as interesting as a hot shovel. But you can't help but like Mako, Gault's antics are almost always amusing, and Blizz is a jawa so he's awesome no matter what. Haven't gotten to Skadge yet though. I think the non-crew characters for BH are pretty good even; Juda/Crysta/Lek/Soongh and I'm sure others I all quite liked.

1.2 patch video looks good to me, got round to watching it last night. I also think the medal change to 1.1.5 was great; I was Battlemaster a while ago but I don't mind the increased valor for other people, more importantly I think since just about everyone can get 4 medals no problem and you aren't rewarding endless medal farming it's encouraged people to actually 'play' the game now. It's subtle but I've even found myself on my healer playing more for the win and not trying to find a solo kill or setup for a 2.5k damage shot or 5k heal. I like it.

hey....hey...HEY!!! i am totally in love with Torian, don't you talk crap about him!! *waggles fists*
:p
prolly makes a difference that my character is female and he and i had quite the romance. ;) in all seriousness, i found him to be quite the romantic, albeit the strong silent type. blizz is like the peppy starwars cherleader. i love him. skadge was a complete ass and i hated him at first...i got my affection up a bit with him and now he is at least tolerable. i dont want to punch his stupid pixel face when i send him on missions anymore(ofc, he stopped responding 'if it'll shut you up' now that his affection is higher).

and lol...Juda was a hottie but she sent me in game mail after our interactions telling me she hoped i would die. lmao.

The companions make or break the story lines IMO. I really liked all the Smuggler companions (even corso). I romanced Risha (rwar Risha. She has a voice...) and I occasionally get these really sweet letters from her now in the mail. Just really well done over all. Don't even get me started on Guss. Dude cracks me up.

My shadow on the other hand, meh. I feel like all the companions are pretty uninspired along with the whole Consular story line. I just want to hit 50 and get it over with. I'm not going to bother with any of the romance options for her since I don't find any of the companions worth it.

For PVE, most classes are similar in buttons. Not sure about Sent/Maur as this is the only AC I haven't raided/pvped with yet (waiting for Legacy now). I do know they take more work in pvp.

For PVP, there's no 2-button class unless you're a baddie or haven't played the class yet. Even mercs/commandos have multiple buttons to be aware of and use in various situations. Sure, tracer/grav is bread n butter, but that's no different than other classes, like Sorcs (lightning).

And if you look at the chart, mercs aren't played as much as Inq/Warr anyway. :)

Ugh, I can't wait for server transfers (assuming they get it sorted out before GW2). We get WZ queues maybe a dozen times a week and now the major Sith PvP guild has a sister guild on the repub side. Half the repubs in it have taken to just throwing the matches after they have their daily done. They'll just stand around doing jack shit, or they'll refuse to attack their sith buddies so the ball carrier (or guy arming the door) just walks right in.

As a BH, all I could think about was railing my companion.
still annoys me that the romances have a gender flag.

I don't really get the point... my human bounty hunter can romance a "male" with tentacles for arms and a dozen eyes but a human female is where she draws the line?

I've been enjoying my Merc BH otherwise, though. I like that the storyline is really cohesive; with my Sith Inquisitor, I've forgotten why I'm on any one planet like 30 seconds in... I feel like I must be doing something wrong, though. I've got a bunch of AoE abilities, but when I'm fighting a single strong/elite mob, I'm only using 2 abilities.

Ugggh, horrifying. Come join us on Shii-Cho! ;)

Problem is, low-pop ghost-towns are the ones where Bio has the *least* incentive to let you leave. I think most of the Day 1 Early Access servers are quite healthy, so there wouldn't necessarily be a single super-server problem on the other end, but all the ones below a certain threshold might implode.

I still need to get around to joining one of the Shii-Cho guilds :(

but I switch characters too much... I've got 4 (trooper, jedi knight, sith inq, and now bounty hunter) languishing in the mid 20's.

and seeing Smugglers as the least played Rep class really makes me want to roll one.

The AT Empire guild is pretty much dead.

that's the impression I got.

it's a wonder there are no server forums on the official site, I'm not even sure how to find a guild to putz around in just to have people to chat with while leveling.

There are a lot of Emp guilds that are recruiting. I left when it pretty much was 5 people on at any time.

After doing a ton of PVP the last two weeks, I gotta say that they really need to expand this system.

1) They need more Warzones (they could add so many more!)
2) They should never start a match with uneven teams. If that means they summoned you for no reason, so be it. They will return you to your location if they do not get enough within a 2-3 min time frame.
3) In the even that teams are uneven in numbers, the match should not be a win/lose. It should be a draw. No one gets credit. But ultimately, it is better than the match never takes place.
4) Definitely cross server queues. Gets really old fighting the same people. But on that note, it is fun to see the same guys on your team.

From what I can tell, on my server (Kathal Rift) we have about 16 L50's on republic side that PVP. Maybe 20. Although at any given time that numbers seems to be 8-12 most evenings. The sith, seem to have around 16-24 at any given time. Seems like every other we run into their 'super team'. A group of all battlemasters, though we do beat them occasionally.

I do a lot of PvP across all my characters and agree with your points. I'm mostly interested in the ranked PvP system as I'm not in a guild on my main so I often get put with a bunch of medal farming players. Overall, I much prefer Void and Civil War as it doesn't have the pits and fire and more of a team objective. Huttball is just hard to progress in if you are a pure melee or healing class. I can amount 4 medals typically while trying to contribute, but anything more than that is impossible. Playing a healer, it's more like 1 or 2 depending on how well your team plays together.

One piece (three tokens) left for full BM, really the 'grinds' in this game are quite relaxed. I don't know how many BM bags I've opened but I think it's probably worked out to around the proposed 25% success rate. I've missed a few days worth of dailies and even then it didn't take more than a few weeks.

Though I think I'll actually stick with the champion saber for the crit instead of the power as a healing sorc though.

Personally I think Huttball may actually be the best warzone. I like Voidstar and Civil War but Civil War suffers from people generally being unreliable and calling for help at a point after they die instead of when they see them coming. Voidstar ends up with a lot of 'downtime' between waiting behind the spawn door and waiting for matches to end (eg: your team didnt breach a door, enemy team breaches door right away, loss inevitable) and I think the bridges there are way worse than any of the walkways on huttball :D

Huttball has that whole 'sport' appeal; individual mistakes don't make or break the result (a la Civil War) and momentum goes back and forth. I think a close game of huttball is way more exciting than either of the other two.

I'm eager to see what the next WZ is like; though for now simply playing my powertech instead of my sorc is like a whole new game with a slew of different possibilities.
