How much do regular edition stores sell 110% speeders for? And how are you guys making money? Does it drop well enough you can get it by killing or are you basically forced to use the market to sell items to players if you ever want to get enough?

I'm only level 12 right now, but the only thing I've really spent money on so far is repairs and I have about 7,000 credits or so, which seems like a fair amount. I seem to get fewer credits being on the Republic, when I played IA in beta I felt like I was rolling in dough. :hmm:

Hmmm...how necessary are speeders while running through zones to get to wherever you need to go? If you're at base speed, or as whatever speed you can self-buff to, are you going to get aggroed and killed easy by swarms or high level mobs?

You'll start blowing through money for skills real fast around level 15. Also, if you plan on leveling up crafting, you REALLY blow through money fast.

Oh right, I forgot I had to pay for skills as well. I just click the buttons and don't ever look at the price. ^_^

Yeah I figured crafting could be expensive, but I assume the gathering skill will help mitigate that to some degree?

Well..hopefully they'll restrict any new accounts on specific servers tomorrow. This will probably alienate friends who wanted to wait until the 20th - but they need to do something to prevent any new accounts from being created on already high population servers [free limited server transfer would definitely help]

Last night I had to purposely log in about 90 minutes prior to being able to actually play.

killing mobs is the #1 generator for xp and money by far. in this game you loot to the max, instead of not bothering for small change like in most games. for me, i got by only on drops and quests for the beginning of the game. now that i'm out of noob town, i picked up mostly full sets of upgraded gear for my companion and myself from the galactic trade.

i've found auction and private trade prices to be quite reasonable so far. the auction searching is a little glitchy, but slick like the rest of the game's ui.

Biggest shock for me was vehicle training at level 25 which was 40,000 credits.

level 19, 19,529 credits :\

I just have too much money!
And now that I have my preorder STAP i wont be spending credits on the bike (but i will on the training).

Oh well...

Sure, if you just sell your gathered mats. But you'll need most of them to grind/RE the craft skill up high enough.

I am doing Synthweaving I have Archaeology and underworld trading. In the process of getting these things up I end up with lots of extra stuff (metal and companion gifts from underworld trading and colour crystals from archaeology) that I can put on the market and make some extra creds to buy a schematic i need and dont have the time to get myself or something like that.

Oh yeah one more stupid question: how do I give a gift to my companion? I tried giving him some egg thing yesterday and it just kept wanting to destroy it.

I really like the affection building with companions, though I do wish there were more tiers and not just 0, then 10,000.

Just use (right-click) it when the correct companion is out.

There are hidden tiers -- when convos trigger, etc. Eventually you get a quest, though I've never actually gotten one all the way to 10k. Obviously 10k is also the romance plot finale if you're doing that.

I did that multiple times and it never worked, also tried dragging and dropping. :colbert:

That's cool, I did find it weird that the level was so freaking high when you are generally only getting 15-40 points per specific choice.

Yeah you just have to have your companion out and right click to use it. After 4 seconds it will be used, However your companion doesnt have to like it. 😀 They can be all "wtf is shit" or they can love it and have a +40 affection added. Took me a few tries to figure out what qyzen wanted for gifts.

You'll find there are a TON of money sinks in the game in a few levels. I just bought my skills at level 22 and spent about 7000 credits. If you buy a full set of ship upgrades when you get the ship that's about 5000. If I went back and bought all the crafting recipes available to me, that would probably be another 10k. I'm also behind on leveling my investigation crew skill because of the mission cost. And I still need 20k to afford the speeder skill at 25.

Fortunately it isn't that hard to earn money... just yesterday, maybe the day before, I was down to about 1000 credits. But unless you specifically stop levelling to grind for money you won't be able to afford everything.

khem val did not like the $200 gold necklace i bought him 😛

khem val is really big on talking up death and the force, which is perfectly understandable, but he reacts poorly when i play my guy as a smooth operator in discussions....-1, -1, -15, +30, +40, -15, -1, -1

i mostly ignored him at first, but now i figured out how to use and outfit him. i have ignored crew skills, crafting and such, so that's my next objective. the heal bot is super annoying.

Hmm, well that sounds a tad annoying, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Presumably you can gather and craft, then sell in an auction house to make money as well? Did this quite a bit in LOTRO and frankly made tonnes of money doing it; was much better than grinding through mobs for coppers and gray items.

While my craft skills are a little slow money seems to be piling up for me, when I hit level 25 tonight I had 45K credits and thats after about 15K in credit waste spending because I bought something from a vendor by mistake (12K) and buying a lightsaber off the GM to see if I could remove the darkside restriction on it by removing the red crystal. Its frustrating that I can get almost every hilt but the one I want... thought I had one, but wasnt reading carefully enough to notice it was an offhand only.
