Unfortunately some times it's not obvious what the game considers light/dark. For instance, with my Empire agent I hired a prisoner as an assassin rather than kill him and I got light side points. WTH? There were a few quests that had issues like that. It seemed worse on the empire side than on the the republic.

Yah, but if you go into preferences you can turn on the little dialog icons that tell you EXACTLY what is a darkside or lightside option before you pick it. While the "story" may not make much sense, there really is no dilemma as a player. Just pick the darkside each and everytime.

There's a taxi right at the starting point on that planet and you automatically know the other flight point for the city, so you can just take the taxi. They don't expect you to run through the heroic zone.

Playing through Republic didn't have many Taxis that allowed you to ride to a new place without you first having to run there to open it up. I can easily see people missing the Taxi and start running through a heroic area without realizing it. Oh well at least death means little except time lost and a repair bill.

Yeah, I played with a friend and we were surprised you could try and go light side as part of the Sith Empire. I guess you'd basically be a Republic spy or something? *shrug* I guess it would make sense that not everyone in the empire is straight up evil, but being a front-line soldier that wouldn't seem likely you could remain "good" and still be on that side. I think part of this is because Star Wars has always been so black and white with the bad guys obviously bad.

See above for replies.

I'm still laughing at all the nerd rage of the games' staggered start. I told everyone WEEKS ago this was going to happen. It was on their front page WEEKS ago how they were going to do early access with up to 5 days.

Still people are morons and never read anything that they don't want to. I guess people are just as bad with selective reading as they are about selective hearing. Actually since I venture into the P&N forums quite a bit I'm really not surprised by this behavior from people.

There has been plenty of communication through their forums from Bioware and through their Twitter feeds as to what they are doing and why. Still idiots will be idiots.

What's the top healer class? In EQ terms the cleric, don't know WoW classes...

There is no "top" healer class. I made a big post earlier about the healer classes. You basically have a light armor, medium armor, and heavy armor healer for each side.

The light armor has less direct damage mitigation, but makes up for that with more CC abilities.

The heavy armor has the most mitigation but has the least CC abilities.

The medium is in between.

The one and ONLY one thing that may make people not play the heavy armor healers over the other two is that the heavy armor healers DO NOT have a battle resurrection. So if the tank in a boss fight goes down during the fight and the only healer in the raid/party is a heavy armor healer then your group may be screwed.

Yeah, it was posted very frequently, people are just mad someone is getting in before them.

Just FYI, in the options you can toggle on a feature that shows which side every dialogue option is for. It puts a little dark side or light side symbol next to them on the speech wheel. Conversation options that don't affect alignment don't have symbols, though.

I found this option very useful.

Ah, thanks, I'll be using that. I don't like the idea of having to turn it on but I've gotten points for the wrong side too often when it seemed clear to me which side the points should be for.

Even if you didn't turn it on, you are STILL given the warning before picking if you use your mouse to hover over the choices. The little blue circle inside the gold ring of choices will display light or dark side indicator if you use your mouse to hover over a choice number. Now if you using your keyboard to make selections then you won't get the hover over notification for dark or light side dialog options.

The preference options just always puts a little darkside or lightside icon indicator next to the actual line of text of the dialog options.

If those people care so much why didn't they preorder on July 21st?

I didn't preorder then because I thought the game was going to suck and I'm not a use Star Wars fan. Most of the feedback I'd seen from gameplay videos, trailers, etc.. was that it was just more of the same, boring, derivative, etc... After playing the stress test weekend I pre-ordered the deluxe edition, which means I'll probably get in on the last day of early access e-mails. Oh well.

I don't think most people misunderstood about access being granted in waves, they just think it's a stupid idea. I don't particularly care for it myself but bitching isn't going to accomplish much, if anything. They do have a design that prevents areas from becoming overcrowded (via instancing areas) regardless of how many people are playing, so I'm not sure exactly why they chose this route unless they weren't certain their infrastructure could handle the sudden load.

Regardless, they're not going to be able to do this on the 20th when the game is actually released.

Ah, I'd been using the keyboard. Thanks.

I'm laughing at the people trying to claim they are getting people together to start a class action lawsuit for "bait & switch" or "intentional false advertisement" or something else equally stupid. It's practically a laugh riot for me reading the complainers.

I think it's an important distinction that this is the early access (and really it's the extra early access); if it were on launch day I could see being pissed, but everything I had seen beforehand prepared me for the fact I may not get in right until launch day, or the day before and I was not even paying that close attention.

LOL that's great. Good luck with that, whiners.

I can see why they are angry, because they wanted 5 days early access. The fact that BW gives you a preorder code, you go onto the site and it gives you a client download link...and then you get it installed and find that nope your accounted isn't really activated. That is a bit of a bummer after downloading 20 (or in my case 240) GB. Nope instead you just got to preload for preordering and that actually you wont be let into the mostly empty servers until nearly launch day.

The up to while legally is being met isn't the best way to market yourself, because it is a pretty scam like thing to do. I imagine they sell time shares by saying you get "up to 100 days a year in your cottage in spain".

You have to remember this is a lot of star wars fans in one place. Its bound to be a little....searching for the right word.....infantile.

Tomorrow would be the start of the 5 days of early access.

Who the hell told you they were mostly empty? O_O when i was logging in yesterday I had a 20 second queue. They are getting somewhat full. Don't think we are lounging in there with a 10ms latency no server lag and just leveling to our hearts content.

lol, I guess I should be happy I won't be able to get it for a couple more weeks.

Unless....the connection stability won't be reached even by then...?

Lol, had no clue about that. I did two chars, one light and one dark but guessed on dialogue options and managed about 90% right still.
