I'm a Laker hater but in no way did I think that game was poorly officiated. (Not really hater, but I don't prefer them because they are not my favorite team)

KINGS, BABY!!! (I'm not your typical crap on the Lakers Kings fan, I give respect where it's due).

About the officiating, i'd say there were about 5-6 calls that went in favor of the Lakers.

at least you are a laker fan and still can call it as it is, that is really rare these day

i'm not a laker fan or a laker hater. i dont have a particular favorite team but all i can say is that the lakers cant get too confident, after all it is only november and they are going to have serious competition from the mavs and kings so they cant be too satisfied with themselves because they beat the spurs

it's funny how lakers haters always think it's poor officiating when they win.

obviously you didnt see some of the plays i saw

evan, the shaq block was a blown call, it would have given him his third foul so it was a big call

masterxfob, you're an idiot. just because everyone doesnt bow down to the lakers doesnt make them a Hater

edit: wicktron, i agree with you that the kings are gonna give the lakers more competition than the spurs

Welcome to the NBA. Despite having 3 officials, there will ALWAYS be bad calls regardless of who is playing who under what circumstances. I don't like it either but the way the NBA is set up, it's tough for the officials to catch everything. Keep in mind that it's roughly a ratio of 3 players to 1 referee spread out on a big court. That's also not to mention how quick of a game basketball is. You cannot possibly expect the refs to be like the eyes of God. So I find it seriously weak of an argument for anyone to say a game went either way because of officiating. That is UNLESS the refs make a bad call on a play that could alter the scenario at the last minute of a close game. Otherwise, it's time to suck it up!

what about a ref that misses a foul call that would have given an important player foul #3 early in the second quarter??? its not a last second foul or anything but doesnt that affect the game in a huge way???

i watched the game in its entirety and there might have been a few calls in favor of the lakers but hardly enough to call the game. i will give you that missed call on shaq against manu, but even if he did get called for the third, he scored 2 points in the half. shaq was not even a factor in the first half nor the second half.

i don't expect anyone to bow down to the lakers nor any other team. the only thing i ask for is that you haters stop posting such BS. no game is called perfectly and poor officiating hardly matters unless there's a bundle of them or it's within the final minutes of a close game.

name a game that was called perfectly and i'll tell you the meaning of life.

it's a team game, if someone gets into foul trouble, someone has to come in and step up to the challenge. it's a team game, one player doesn't determine the outcome.

look at the kings, they've played quite a few games without webber over the years and they find a way to win as a team. same with the hornets and sonics this year. also check out the jazz, they have arguably one of the worst teams in the league, yet they still find a way to win.

edit: you wanna know another reason why the lakers are winning (for now, at least) and the spurs aren't?

6 lakers are averaging over 10 points a game, while there are only 3 spurs that do.

thats a mistake people tend to make, shaq didnt score many points, but he was still important to the game. 8 boards, and a blovk that started a fast break and a defensive presence that couldnt be measured by numbers

also, i completely agree with you and everyone else that there is no such thing as a perfectly officiated game and there never will be but there are some calls that are so obvious that it is unexcusable to miss

once again, regardless of your views, i'm not a hater. i dont like the lakers, i dont dislike the lakers, they are just another B-ball team to me

just an fyi, shaqs 1st half stats:

2 points (0/3 fg)
4 boards
2 assists
2 blocks (one was a foul on manu, which allowed shaq an extra 5 minutes in the half, and took away two points from my fantasy team :( )
2 turnovers

the reason the spurs lost is not due to the missed call on shaq. the reason they lost is due to the fact that they could not hit an outside shot while the lakers did.

if a team can not hit an outside shot, are you going to guard the perimeter? not a chance, you're going to collapse and stop the post game and also prevent the penetration. that's exactly what the lakers did hence the poor performances by duncan, rasho, and rose. even with open shots, the spurs continued to miss until the game was over (midway through the 3rd).

The funny thing is the Lakers with all these star players somehow look more vulnerable this year than they did the last three or four. It looks as though a perimeter-shooting team could take them.

The only team capable of doing that while not giving up 125 points on the other end are the Kings. But the Lakers aren't more vunerable compared to previous years because GP and Karl joined the Lakers; they are both huge upgrades on O and D compared to Fisher and Horry/Walker/Madsen.

Oh, yeah, they're certainly good additions, but somehow I feel that the Lakers still haven't completely gotten into their game. It feels like their rhythm is easy to disrupt, although they have an excellent record right now. They have certainly improved on D, though and their win against Indiana last night was very convincing, although I didn't watch the game.
