Don't feed it, it will grow.
Notice how much FUD is being posted from people that wuld never buy this card?
I sense much fear in this thread.

Lon architecture is irrelevant unless it can't deliver what it promised.690 offers better performance at the same price point. For people susceptible to ms this can be a good buy sure but in the TR thread you have no doubt noticed very few people actually ever experienced it.Titan can be a good card for cash strapped professional firms but then again I'm not sure if the apps will be optimized for it because NV sure don't want to hurt their Quadro market.Regarding Quadro it has been almost 3 years since NV brought Quadro 6000 and still I have to use it and no real replacement is on the horizon.Reading over the lastest posts...people are still treating the GK110 as if it was the GK114?
Why is this?
Well, maybe when the initial buying frenzy is over, (Like if Annisman would stop pre-ordering) and the rest just sit on shelves due to high price, maybe the MSRP will come down. I'd pay maybe 699.00 for this card as that is what I feel it's worth. And I'd only pay 799-849 for the GTX690. A grand is seriously pushing the envelope, even for people with money. IMHO.
But one thing is for certain, it is a nice piece of hardware and nobody can take that away from it. Fastest single GPU does have a halo "sir charge" but it's just too much of a sir charge this time.

You don't get it either.
This is not the GTX780 (GF114)
It's a new breed...It's GK110.
I'm sure the MSRP for GK114 will be ~$500...I just don't get why people expect the GK110 to be priced like the GF114 -> GG114...
So why do people insist in treating the GK110 like it was the GK114?!
It's really not important.
Actually it is, so stop telling me what is important or not!
People whine over the price mostly.
But they base their whining on the notion that this should be the GK114.
A replacement for GK104...at the same price point.
It's not!
Will be funny to watch how they will recover from that stance when GK114 launches....

If you take a look at the card's PCB there's nothing premium about it. There should be no compromises about this card for that price yet you can't even control voltages and the PCB is just good enough. It should be a complete overkill, hell the card should have LN2 mode.

That is nVidia reference plattform. AIBs can change the settings.
First and foremost, Titan still has a hard TDP limit, just like GTX 680 cards. Titan cannot and will not cross this limit, as its built into the firmware of the card and essentially enforced by NVIDIA through their agreements with their partners. This TDP limit is 106% of Titans base TDP of 250W, or 265W. No matter what you throw at Titan or how you cool it, it will not let itself pull more than 265W sustained.
Ok then whatever you say. Do you just endlessly spew NV bs or what.

....All indications are that NVIDIA built Titans power delivery system for around 265W, and thats exactly what buyers will get.
Second, lets talk about overvolting. What we didnt realize on Tuesday but realize now is that overvolting as implemented in Titan is not overvolting in the traditional sense, and practically speaking I doubt too many hardcore overclockers will even recognize it as overvolting. What we mean by this is that overvolting was not implemented as a direct control system as it was on past generation cards, or even the NVIDIA-nixed cards like the MSI Lightning or EVGA Classified.
Overvolting is instead a set of two additional turbo clock bins, above and beyond Titans default top bin. On our sample the top bin is 1.1625v, which corresponds to a 992MHz core clock. Overvolting Titan to 1.2 means unlocking two more bins: 1006MHz @ 1.175v, and 1019MHz @ 1.2v. Or put another way, overvolting on Titan involves unlocking only another 27MHz in performance.
nVidia is allowing overvolting. So they will allow a higher tdp limit, too.
Right now nobody knows anything what OEMs can do and what not.
For me the biggest disappointment after the twilight zone price was the bait and switch they pulled claiming it would be an unlocked and well overclocking card.
Turned out that was BS as there is more room to adjust voltage now (only .37mv), but now you can only increase the power target to 106%. The card is hardlocked not to consume more than 265W...just great. $1000 card... There was eventually a hacked BIOS put out for the GK104 that lets you extend the power target, maybe there will be one for Titan. Doesn't change the fact that the card still is not enthusiast grade and is again hamstrung when it comes to overclocking.

Yeah, that power cap of 265W is just pathetic, it doesn't even reach ATX's max official TDP of 300W. I could somewhat understand NV not wanting to go beyond ATX's official limit, but if you couldn't bypass that it would still be VERY disappointing. Anyway ATX's official limit of 300W wasn't a problem when 6990/590 were released. It was just another example of nv releasing underwhelming PCB for its top product.
