Verdict: This is the first card to really shake up the $150-$200 market in a long while. It appears to be a winner based on the weight of the reviews, easily beating the not-yet-available HD7790, while matching the HD7850.

I'll wait until I'm home to take a better look at this, but it seems that it hit right where it should be too. Right between the 7790 and the 7850 in price and performance. I didn't check out overclocking though. In my opinion it filled Nvidia's gap well.

the GTX 650 Ti boost should have been named GTX 660 LE or something. the performance is competitive with HD 7850. but as you said thats a 860 mhz HD 7850 vs a 1033+ GTX 650 Ti boost. at same clocks its a no contest. the HD 7850 is around 5 - 10% slower than HD 7870 at same clocks. the HD 7850 and GTX 660 are close competitors when both are overclocked to 1.15 - 1.2 ghz. the performance scaling on HD 7850 with overclocking is fantastic. also the 32 ROPs and 256 bit memory really helps HD 7850 perform very well with MSAA 4x / 8x and in bandwidth hungry games like crysis warhead, sleeping dogs etc.

I bought a GTX650 Ti because it was shorter than any comparable or even non-comparable AMD card and I was making a small PC.

Then they release a super short GTX670.
Now they release this thing with a monsterously long cooler/shroud, even though the PCB is short.

I wonder if non-reference cards will be a little smaller.

Not enough numbers. If they had four numbers like AMD not only would there cards be better (more numbers = better) but they could also have more cards.

TBH, the ridiculous thing is that it's a 650Ti.
What's the point in having numbers AND a suffix, and then yet again (like with the 560) using the same suffix and then ADDING ANOTHER SUFFIX.

This card is actually a pretty darn good value. Something that nvidia usually doesn't do (VALUE). Kudos to them, this card is definitely a winner.

Agreed. At the price point it's at the value is excellent. I may pick one up for a backup card.

I don't know. To me, it is a card that does not make me regret my 660 in the least. This 650 is only $40 cheaper than a 660, and still doesn't come too close to the performance. It just feels odd that 6 months after I bought my card, I am still looking at something slower, and not that much cheaper.

LE sounds awful.. GTX 660 SE would be better, like GTX 460 SE that sold quite well.

I dunno.. Yeah, GTX 655 Ti? It's interesting that NV stole AMD's term "Boost".

it requires a GTX 650 Ti boost at 1033+ mhz to match a 860 mhz HD 7850. at same clocks HD 7850 easily pulls ahead. its well known that HD 7850 is 5 - 10% slower than HD 7870 at same clocks. HD 7850 at an average overclock of 1.15 ghz matches HD 7870. once overclocked the HD 7850 and GTX 660 compete against each other. also because of Nvidia's strict power target restrictions to +10% its more difficult to hit 1.2+ ghz on GTX 660 whereas HD 7850 has no such restrictions. A well designed HD 7850 like the MSI HD 7850 power edition at 1.3 Ghz can easily match a HD 7950(800 Mhz). the HD 7800 and HD 7900 cards are scaling beasts with overclocking.

I agree that overclocking is probably better with the HD7850, but that's not guaranteed. I recently tested out a 7870 that couldn't go over 1075. The 7850s that are the same price as the 650 Ti Boost probably won't be the best overclockers.

I think it is. A bad HD 7850 that can only overclock to 1100MHz is still a higher percentage than a good GTX 650 Ti that can go to 1350MHz effective.

The GTX 650 Ti Boost starts at around 1100MHz effective already. If a good card goes to 1350MHz, that's an increase of 23% on the core. The HD 7850 starts at a mere 860MHz. If it can only get to 1100MHz, which is extremely unlikely, it would still be an increase of 28% on the core. So, on the best outlook for overclocking the 650 Boost and the worst for the 7850, it still comes out ahead.

The HD 7850 is the better card, fair and square. Not only is it faster stock and overclocks significantly better, but it consumes a bit less power as well. It also comes with a better game bundle if you're interested in that.

NVIDIA really hasn't had anything on AMD in this generation of cards.

Did anyone test SLi? It seems that this card has a good performance-per-dollar value, so that makes me wonder how viable it would be to buy 2x 650Ti Boosts (2x $169) versus a single 660Ti (~$299).
