hey Xcobra, I'd love to see your white CPU fan under UV light... got any pics? that's the one thing mine is lacking, a nice looking CPU fan in amongst my UV light.. it's just black and it annoys me 😛

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. But I couldn't find a white fan that I liked. I think I'm going to be going with the A.C. Ryan UV LED 80mm fan from Performance PCs (can't open page at work). But that is going to be a while from now. I've got to put in the window first...

Man, after seeing CraigRT's pics with the side window I have to have that thing! Do you have a cold cathode inside your case? If so, where did you put it since the case speaker's in the way?

Now I am going to have to ask for temps on a system like that. To see how all these aluminum cases compete, and to see if it really makes a difference... 🙂
Tas.

right now it's hot as hell in southern california, but my hdd's are running at 34 C for my seagate and 30 for my WD, the good thing is those temps are pretty stable regardless of how much stuff i transfer.

my cpu's a barton 2500+ with a thermaltake silent boost that runs at ~40

in reply to the person querying about wooden cases.. heat in a case is NOT radiant heat. Air flow is the most important thing in a case. Touch the side of your aluminum case.. is it warm.. no it isnt

I know. But I've always seen that they say it helps, and it was interesting to see proof that is doesn't matter a bit.

Don't get me wrong, both those cases are fine pieces of craftsmanship, but why would you build your case out of wood? It looks like it's for sound dampening.

in my case i built it out of wood cuz
1) it seemed like it would be fun
2) i wanted a new case, but didnt wanna pay 100+ for a good case
3) i could set up fans however i wanted, so i could cool my hdd's really well

i guess sound damping is an added plus for me

although since i kind of mismeasured, my side door doesnt fully close, so im not sure how well damped it is 😛

Hmmm...pretty interesting..I have never seen a computer case made of pine wood before. Nice work

Oh, and thanks for uploading the pics Tas

+ for me it is a sealed unit so that all incoming air is filtered,& all heat sources are exhausted out the rear(except the chipset, still trying to figure that one).

Thanks. I'm going to start editing the main page, and change things up a bit. I just haven't had time with school and everything else. But now I get to start messing with it.

it's actually mountable in the bottom, beside the speaker.. i have one in the botton and one in the back mounted vertically. I love the way it looks too... for once there is not much i want to change in my computer! (other than I want a UV reactive fan) 🙂

Really? 12 inch cathodes? Could you post some pics so I can see how they fit? Pretty please?
