Did anyone see the new PS3 commercial, its actually non-insanity inducing, and pretty cool. Im talking about the one with the sixaxis, chicken eggs, and crows. LOL that sounds pretty bad but it is actually a pretty good commercial. Im too lazy to find a screencap though so youll have to take my word for it.
 
I officially have 1 PS3 on lock now! 🙂

Well hopefully its official ... I got in on the walmart preorder and it's processing in my order status page so I'm hoping it all goes through 🙂

Ironically, I subconsiously ignore all stickies, so I was wondering what the heck happened to the PS3 thread and really had to search to find it again😀.

Haha...yeah, I was scrolling through a couple of pages and noticed all the other PS3 threads getting locked. Made me wonder what happened to this one until I realized it had been sticked. 🙂
 
Is anyone pre-ordering/camping out in hopes of getting a PS3 to own? Or is everyone hoping to turn a quick profit on ebay?

I don't think I've talked to one person that actually wants to play games on a PS3.

I want to play games on it. But there is no way Im camping out for one especially with the abyssmal launch numbers.

the circuit city near me that is gettin 100 of em in Maryland ALREADY has over 150 people in line. This is fvcking crazy!

they are gettin atleast 100, and possibly 120 ... but wtf, what if you were #150 in line and didnt get one after waiting days? this is sick.
 
Amazon not taking pre-orders

This weekend is shaping up to be a hectic three days for gamers looking to get the newest additions to the next-gen console family. High demand and low supply are causing problems for retailers, with GameStop already admitting that it won't be able to fulfill the PlayStation 3 preorders it has taken.

Seeing the opportunity to avoid a potential nightmare, online retailer Amazon.com has opted to not take preorders for the PS3 and will not take further preorders for the Wii. A forum goer claiming to be a member of Amazon's video game editorial staff broke the news on the products' message boards.

"This was not an easy decision, but we made the decision because we want to ensure that we can fulfill all of the orders that are placed within a reasonable time period," reads the post.

For gamers hoping to get the new consoles in time for Christmas, Amazon cautioned that delivery by the end of 2006 wasn't a guarantee. "We understand your frustration, but we believe it would be extremely irresponsible if we took preorders for product that we may not be able to deliver until 2007."

The news was better for the Wii, though, as Amazon stated that customers who did preorder the Wii online should receive their systems "shortly after" the system's launch date of November 19.

Amazon was not available to confirm or deny the news as of press time.

I could understand if you were #110 in line and desperate. Maybe some people would drop out. Any longer than that is insane.

Who know if they'll even be getting 100 with the latest news...
 
Are there any websites that are going to be selling the PS3 at like 12:01AM on Friday? I was thinking about maybe going to Costco around 2am on Friday and waiting until they open at 7AM for executive members, maybe.

fvck that...when i was camping out for the 360 as soon as best buy opened their doors all hell broke loose. the once orderly line was no longer and I was being squished by the doors

Check with each local store. You're gonna have to actually call them and talk with someone in the know.

One thing though, Sam's opens at 7AM to business members only. You can bet that any PS3s will be gone then. I think Costco is similar.

Really? I went over to Sam's at about 2:30AM last year and there were only 3 other guys there. We camped out together. Most of the people didn't show up until about 6AM.
 
I may swing by Best Buy on Thursday night to see what the line's like. If there's one or two, then i'll camp out.

...and I'm buying it to play it.
