I don't think fisher flops as bad as Divac; fish actually draws contact because he beats the opposing PG to the spot where he gets the charge. Now for Vlade, every movement by Shaq causes him to submarine to the floor. On every contested rebound, Vlade flails his arms trying to draw loose ball fouls. It makes the NBA officiating look like fools. FLopping has definitely gotten out of hand...anyone remember the NBA back in the 80's and early 90's? That was basketball at its best without all those stupid touch fouls they call now.

Fish really needs to do a better job of cutting off Bibby and Jackson before they get into the key. Time and time again, they exposed the Laker's weakness in rotating to defend guys penetrating inside.

I think Fisher is a bit over aggressive(he's not slow), he'll easily bite a fake and get burn, on that key play it made him crash unnecessarily into Webber.

I sense a huge pay increase for Horry.

Fisher will be gone, or at least I hope so.

Horry is under contract through 2004, so it will be a bit before he gets pay increase. Plus, I think after Rob's contract is up he will either retire, or go in a sign and trade back to Houston. His family is still in Houston, and his daughter is very sick (born with a missing chromosome I believe), and he does not get to see when he is in LA. I wouldn't like him leaving, but I'd understand if that's what he has to do to be close to his daughter.

He made all his shots for his career last year during the playoffs. That guy was hitting EVERYTHING. Now its back to reality. He's nothing more then a backup scrub.

Fisher signed a 7 year $30 mil contract in 99. He is not going anywhere because nobody is dumb enough to take him until 2006 unless the opposing team wants to unload some of their garbage.

I still say the Lakers will find some way, any way to ship him out if he continues like this. It might be packaged with someone else, but I have a feeling it's going to happen. They could trade him for a pair of used shoes and a bag of Fritos and I'd be happy, as long as he isn't wearing Purple and Gold next season.

Absolutely. He's been living off of Shaq's double team. His defense is piss poor and he can't create his own shot. But he is a good shooter when he's wide open and he doesn't turn the ball over very often and this is exactly what the Lakers wanted. Remember laker chose Fisher over Van Exel. It worked while the Lakers were playing slower teams in the nba(Spurs, Portland, Philly) who couldn't switch on a double team but against the speedy Kings and an aging Shaq Fisher has been EXPOSED!

Yup, I'd take Ron Harper out of retirement for the second time over Fisher.

He didn't get a chance to pull out the Flopperoo against Shaq as much in this game, because Shaq was in foul trouble most of the game. I did, however, see Vlade flop against Horry, Walker, and Fisher (ironic isn't it?).

I especially enjoyed the one when he jumped up and landed on Horry's leg and Horry got called for it. :)

I think that is actually part of his problem this year. He is so convinced he is the three point assassin, that the hustling, sacrifice his body, and only shoot in the offense Fisher is long gone. He got those threes last year in the offense. Shaq would be doubled, he'd kick it out, and BAM, Fish was there for the three. This playoffs, he tries to create his own shot, and that is just not his game. He's three point success went to his head, and he's now convinced he's the third scorer. I no longer see that energy, hustle guy that got him the PT when Van Exel was still in town.

well, in any case, lakers just need to step it up...

i think fisher is somewhat decent... but when he knows he's not gonna make anything, he should just stop shooting and just play some defense...

they definitely need to step it up on friday...

I'm sure the Suns would give you Penny Hardaway for Derek Fisher and a few other scrubs. ;)
