Well, the fact that the Wii both at the last couple of expos had 3 TIMES the traffic as the PS3 booth kind of shows that all of us lemmings might be on to something.

Apparantly it is a lot of fun to play. I don't know this from personal experience, but based on the people who lined up for 4 hours to play it at E3, 2 ATOTers who played it at a Nintendo Fusion Tour concert, and the reactions of developers (who are increasing development efforts for the Wii and have had good things to say about the controller), maybe there is something to all this buzz?

$250 for the Wii, 1 controller (+ nunchuck), and Wii Sports
$40 for an additional controller + $20 for an additional nunchuck
Older games will be downloadable but will cost a few bucks (up to $10 for N64 games I believe, less for SNES and NES). ~30 classic games will be available at launch with an additional 10 or so released per month.

I don't think a price has been set in stone. Nintendo has confirmed that it would be $250 or less.

From Nintendo's site... "The Wii is backward-compatible to all Nintendo GameCube games and includes four ports for controllers and two slots for memory cards"

A: It just Looks cheap. The shiny white plastic thing looks like it could cave and snap at the slightest pressure.

B: They got John Lovitz to help test it.

but before you start ragging on N for making its controllers $10 more than sony or MS, i'd like to point on that N's games cost $10 less, and you'll probably buy more games than controllers over the life of the system.

I'm pretty sure $249.99 is confirmed. As for the extra controller, I read somewhere about a controller/nunchuk combo that would be $50, though I don't know if that is verified.

I'm pretty disappointed in the prices of controllers these days, it used to be that you could get extra controllers, even first party, for $20. $50+ is starting to get to be too much.

price has been set for a while now... $249. There supposedly still some secrets.. presumably on Nov 8. So they might do some whacky preemptive price cut.. heh.. but I doubt it.

Damn why controllers gotta be so expensive these days. I was hoping for like 20 or 30 bucks. I was thinking of picking up a wii for parties for 4 player games but theres no way im gonna spend the 180 for 3 controllers, thats just crazy.

It really is, and Xbox360 seems to be the same deal. If you want a wireless plus a charge cable, it's $60. It's almost to the point you have to tell your friends to buy their own controllers and bring them over.
