Gore just conceded. 99% of the vote counted, and a 10,000 vote difference; since it's less than 1/2 a point of a difference, it could be grounds for an automatic recount, but Gore said he won't bother. Gore won't contest any of the results from the states.

This was amazingly close. America at its finest.

So is Bush going to make sure that Slickwillie has the carpets cleaned and disenfected before he packs his Sh!t and takes his wrinkly old lady with him? ;)

Being a law & order liberal pacifist, I obviously wouldn't do it. You Americans are quite able to assassinate your presidents, with enough regularity for it to be almost predictable based on the year of their election (like Reagan's attempt was). Now Bushlite gets elected in the year 2000. Has anyone checked where that year fits in the pattern of presidential attempts? If it does, I'm sure that a nut somewhere in the US will be more than happy to try and fulfill a so-called prophecy.

Anyway, why would the secret service trouble me for saying that some gub-toting nut might act on a delusion or his/her dislike? I am sure that they are very aware of that possibility since it's their job to protect the president-elect.

WOW, In the national election with > 90 MILLION votes, the difference is 300,000; less than 0.5%. I wish there was an automatic recount for the presidential votes :)

I don't understand why people call this America at it's greatest. I dare say that if America knew the stances of all the candidates, the vast majority would not have picked either candidate. Currently, the elections may as well be rigged. How many times did you hear, "I wanna keep Bush out of office" and vice versa?

I call it BS.

Gore's lead in Wisconsin is down to 1250 votes with 94% in.

They're talking on Fox about what Gore may do since his entire life has been aimed at being Prez and if he'll be a man like Nixon in 1960 and bow out gracefully or cry like the beyatch he is.

Surely Gore would not be conceding defeat if he was aware there was only a <600 vote margin in Florida.

Give it up, guys, Gore is about to take the stage to concede defeat.

It's over.

30,000 foreign votes to count. Eventhough the Republicans say they are betting on the military element, NPR just reported today that a good number of Americans living in Israel are voting this year. MAny of them favor Gore!

To all those who said "my vote can't count"....does this prove the point that EVERY vote counts?!

This election is not final. There must be a recount. This is rediculous. 500 votes and they are write in votes? Plus a district in Florida (in the pan handle?) hasn't counted there ballots yet?

best drama in a long, long time!

I'm getting crazy errors loading this thread. I was the 11th post at 8:04 pm and it's over 800 posts now!

Now they're making noises about Florida. WTF is going on here?!?!
