Who needs the mermaid. We have bimmerchick!

Buwahaha! I'll e-mail someone in ATi's marketing department to design a chick AND exotic car demo 😛

Yeah.. I can see this working to get back the waining ATi fanboyz from dear old dawn and associates 😀

Just imagine chick leaning over bonnet of car in black leather miniskirt and top... all done in luscious HDR rendering and all that jazz with like 2 million polygons or something rediulas... lol

I like it better when the first reviews are posted at midnight. It makes the "experience" more exciting.

BTW, did anybody miss me? 🙂 I've been gone for at least 8 months.

honestly, no benches!...looks like we are going to get lame previews...
not much seems to be coming out of this generation, more or less a jump in fps, i dont see any strides in IQ, we'll see.

NDA supposedly expires at 9am EST tomorrow; anyone who publishes before that is in serious trouble.

hell www.theinquirer.net hasnt even said a word! What gives nvidia? Honestly the cards should have been givin to reviewers wayyyy early, at least like a few days ago. And here is a nother thing, shouldnt the nDA's have expired??

Here's a hint of when it might be launched today: "In addition, you can join NVIDIA executives and industry luminaries for the launch event that evening." This was pulled from nvidia's site so it's safe to say that we'll see reviews tonight.

480W+ ?!...u have to be kidding me...don't ppl run 300-350W for their 3ghz systems...a little ridiculous

Looks like the card has an alarm klaxon (like RAID cards) on it! hehe

Probably to warn user of impending China Syndrome if the fan fails.

Cheers!

My power supply solution = Buy a 20$ Raidmax 350 Watt Power supply from gameve or somewhere. Put a staple in pins 4 and 6 so itll start without being connected to a computer. Make that the dedicated power supply for the graphics card. Of course, ill have to turn it on first before i turn on the computer. Thats the twenty dollar sollution.
Aint no way Ima spend on a 500w ps ntm it has to be a name brand.

Well, the original FlowFX could be confused with an Air Raid siren..... 😛

haha...man that is so ghetto...honestly if u are dropping $400+ for the damn card...get the PS it wants...putting a staple in it...lmao!
im just saying that those are crazy power req's. Imagine the heat output for that! As a silent comp guy (or attempting to be on a budget) im liking how u can put the heatpipe on all ati cards. No way in hell that nvidia card will take a silent cooler. plus added system temp!...gonna be ugly.
See what ati can give us...they seem more reasonable in this area

This isn't exactly the offical launch to retail. This is just the preview. They said not until April 26th then count 2-4 weeks aftarwards until Asus, Gigabyte, and others to get their product to the retailers. So the middle of May we will likely see the NV40 on the shelfs.

There is no doubt in my mind that these cards a huge leap in performance from their counter parts. So excited to see some benchies. If I don't see at least a 20-25 FPS@ hi res improvements, bah, not worth 400 dollars.

There will always be compromises to weight the scale between IQ and performance.
