Edit 2: Hahahah, Got a mirror!

Edit 1: The article is down, maybe digit-life was violating the NDA and nVIDIA made them pull it down?
In any case, here's the main course :)

benchies, Anand!!!

Against what? The competition doesn't show itself for another week or two...

If it doesn't outperform the Radeon 9800XT with 4x FSAA by at least 200%, I won't be impressed.

Preorder from Newegg maybe? Of course those that wait will get to decide which company to buy from. Does Nvidea like ATI release their own version or just sell through other companies? I am also not hearing much about it being bundled with Doom3 or not??? If I can get the ultra with Doom3 and the non ultra doesnt come with it then the Ultra would be a real bargain for once. The ultra could still be a bargain it just has to be more than 10% faster than the non ultra.

Ditto that I dont want to wait three weeks for ATI comparison when we can at least compare it to the best available now.

:p

It's not frikkin fair ...

nVIDIA users get t3h sexAY faeries and mermaids, while ATi users get stuck with freaky gargoyles and hairy chimps :p

the only consolation was that my 9800XT beat the crap0la outta any 5950, but now ... I dunno :D My next upgrade is gonna be in June, as soon as X880 is released and I'll know for sure by then - who be da leada leada, who be da leada *insert reggae beat here*

We have almost received a GeForce 6800 sample, so it's still early to speak of GPU power consumption.

How do you "almost" receive something? Either you got one or you don't got one, there ain't no almost to it. :p

Anyone else wonder if Anand will have something "extra" up his sleeves...like a Radeon X800 Pro overnighted to him?

So can watch copywritten DVD's (but not capture, like you'd want to anyway)

Extended display and video output features, including int. videoprocessor, hardware MPEG decoder, WMV9 accelerator, adaptive deinterlacing, video signal scaling and filtering, int. NTSC/PAL decoder (up to 1024x768),

WMV9 acceleration and MPEG 1080i hardware decoding and the Extended display and video output features, I like the sound of that:)

The reviews are taking so long because the test machines are shutting down every 20 mins due to massive power loss. ;)

No joke, I've read that has actually happened. There are heat issues as well.

HardOCP already has two place-holder links for their reviews:

GeForce 6 Series Tech Article

GeForce 680Ultra Preview

Anyone else wonder if BMW will sue nVidia over their use of "6-series"?

I think I should e-mail Tom Purves of BMW NA right now and see if their lawyers can suck some NVDA money into the courts!

:D

Yeah but almost every time when a new generation card comes out it bests the previous generation by at least 2x the speed so by it being even 50% fast enough, makes it a whopping increase, 100% will make my jaw drop and anything more is just hard to imagine but I am guessing at high setting it will. Now not only do the new cards pack higher clock speeds and memory speeds but also 2x the pipelines. For instance, when 9700 came out it was clocked identical to the 8500 which was the previous generation card. Earlier 4200 came out clocked at 250/513 and 4600 at 300/600 and ati had 275/275 with 850 making it a slow step in speed but more efficient per clock cycle

Here though nvidia has more efficiency, and more pipelines, and ati x800xt even has more memory speed, more gpu speed and more pipelines vs its older sibling. So I am pretty sure we can expect 2x performance as a given.....

nearly-confirmed rumor has it that there's gonna be a mermaid demo ... nVIDIA sure knows their target market!

Well, since there is a screenshot of her, I had no doubt. Both nVidia and ATi are using female renderings as marketing tools. Makes sense!
