since none of you hardcore peeps seem to like 3dmark2001, then could you give a newbie (me) some suggestions on some good benchmark utilities?

My before/after is such:
Det 14.60 yielded good results in games, etc.
Det 23.11: when I tried to exceed 16 colors, it would give me a small blinking red and green block at the upper lefthand corner of the screen when it tried to load Windows. It would just stick there and not proceed any further.
I'm sticking with the Det 3's for now. :)
Oh, specs:
Epox 8KTA3
GF2 Pro, 64MB DDR
latest 4-in-1's installed
Win98SE

<< I am running Detonator 21.83 WHQL XP Drivers in Windows XP Pro (2600) on my TNT/1 16meg and the system is rock solid. Not a single video related crash.

I am also using CoolBits with the WHQL certified drivers. I have my card overclocked and running smooth.

How do you get Coolbits to run under WHQL drivers? The coolbits regedit is disabled by the WHQL drivers themselves AFAIK...

Well, after some testing for a few days, I must say that these new v23.11 drivers are really terrible. They caused my computer to BSOD randomly. I wasn't even playing any games, my computer would just crash after a few hours. This happened several times to me, which is very strange because running the v22.50 drivers my computer ran fine for several days in a row.(only reason it wasn't longer was because I installed the 23.11 drivers and had to restart) I have now switched back to the v22.50 drivers and my computer has been running fine for close to a day.

BTW this is on a 64MB Visiontek GF3 Ti500, 1.4@1.6ghz Athlon XP, Shuttle AK31 v3.1 KT266A mobo, 2x256MB crucial pc2100 DDR Ram, on WinXP Pro.

i havent gotten 1 bsod the entire time with 23.11. My only complaint is that i cannot add the resolutions into the drivers that i had before with powerstrip (1440x1050) and that is kind of annoying considering 1280x1024 is too big :(
Is there any way to get a custom res to run?!?
