Pretty substantial differences there though.

AV specifically talked about one player after a dirty play. He didn't talk about running other players on the Bruins or the Bruins in general. As has happened with pretty much EVERY suspendable play in the NHL this year by the injured players coach.

Torts talked about the entire Pens team and specifically talked about running OTHER players on their team, who were unrelated to the incident, and a tangent about issues completedly unrelated too about whining.

Had Torts just said his piece on Orpik and his dirty play without being going about his Torts ways he'd probably have been fine. I bet him running on about going out and injuring their players was the issue, not what he said about Orpik.

We all know you hate the Canucks but you gotta agree these aren't really the same thing.

And I too would have preferred the Jets used the old logo rather than the modified Conservative Party logo. 😉
 
And please keep the same jersey with the awesome hockey-playing n. The Nordiques white jersey is like that beautiful Enterprise D. There is such simple elegance & purity in the design and proportions that have achieved a perfect balance (the n and fleurs de lys were too small early on).

Please don't make it butch like the Enterprise E just for the sake of it being 'modern', 'more assertive' and 'streamlined'. That crap didn't work for Godzilla either.
 
Well, looks like I got my wish. Preds hosting Wings in round one. It's not that I think they're a better opponent for us than the Blackhawks, it's just that I've been waiting for a playoff series with the Wings where we finally have a shot. If it doesn't happen this year then I'm not sure it ever will.

Wings fans, I'm going to be in Detroit for a couple of days during the series. How impossible will it be to get tickets? If tickets are impossible then what's my likelihood of getting shanked at a sports bar if wearing a Preds jersey?

I've seen Black Hawks and Leafs jerseys get booed, but never shanked. And if either of those jerseys can survive a visit to Detroit, you'll be fine.

Getting tickets is easy if you got the cash. The prices are obscene come playoff time though. Round 1 isn't usually THAT bad, but I'm guessing ~ $250 for 2nd level. Last year I paid $385 a seat for 2nd round, and that was face value.

When I was in Colorado they sell pucks with the Nordiques logo on them. I thought that was kinda cool.

I don't have high hopes for the sharks vs the blues. I don't see them getting out of this series, but here's to hoping they exceed expectations for the first time in years.

I need help.

I got suckered into a playoff bet at work. I need to choose teams in a couple hours. I haven't been paying attention to hockey this year, especially the eastern conference.

There are 4 of us betting, we each get to choose 4 teams, draft style. We draw numbers 1-4 to determine order. (Number 4 gets to choose 4th, then 5th... you get the idea.) Also, each person has to alternate conferences. If you choose a west conference team first, you have to choose an east conference team second.

Which teams should I try to get? Which teams should I try to avoid?

I'm about the same, I might swap Nashville for St Louis though. I think Nash is right about where they should be, but STL is not as good as their #1 seed.

Wonder if they trade it. They have so much young talent now it will be hard down the road to hold onto all these young top players.

I will be working nights 3 out of the 4 first games come round 1. 🙁
But I will listen to them via a radio.
