Malkin's got the Hart trophy all but wrapped up. Dominating season ever since the Kid went on the shelf.

I want for the Preds to land Nash so badly but know its probably not going to happen. Hopefully we can at least come up with a decent option #2.

Are the Canucks fans burning the city today? Hodgson for Kassian & Gragnani?!?!

Darcy Regier won the fuckin lottery.

Probably better they didn't, rumored trade minimum was a first round pick, high level prospect, and a current roster player (and supposedly not a banger, someone with 2 line potential). That's a hell of a price to pay for a team in the hunt right now.

Sharks added some bottom line depth, we'll see if it helps, hard to imagine it'll make any difference. I really hope they stop sucking now that this 9 game road trip is ending and they're heading home.

And that Hodgson trade is a bit mind boggling. Supposedly no one knew he was on the block, they probably could have done better.

Hodgson is going to be a great player, but the Canucks have plenty of Offense and little grit. Need more Grit for the Playoffs.

Well what the hell do they want exactly? A different star that won't want to play there? 5 picks when they've shown they can't draft for shit? They might have better luck with the Rangers' drafts. 😀

Pretty much this. Trade Nash for outsourced draft picks.

I'm a little sad to see Hodgson go, but we'll see how Kassian performs in the playoffs.

How about Paul Gaustad?

Ahahahaha! For a first rounder...

No? Well there's Andrei Kostitsyn.

I was actually ok with the moves we made. Those two you mentioned plus Gil help us out quite a bit relative to where we were a month ago. I'm just hoping we can somehow make out way into round 2 again and then hopefully find a way to get into 3. At that point with the kind of defenders/goal play we have you never know what might happen.

I completely disagree. Hodgsen and Kassian are both quite talented. Hodgsen can be a 30 goal scorer where as Kassian is more of a power forward. They see how they got beat down by size by Boston and knew they needed more grit, and had to give to get. Kassian is a monster and will still score points. Points isn't everything, its not the only thing that makes up a great team.

BTW, enjoy Gali and Winnik, they will be great for you guys. Meanwhile, we have the Canuck Destroyer McGinn to hopefully destroy some Canuck dmen come playoffs

If thats true, Howson is an idiot for not taking it. Not that Howson hasn't already proven he's the worst GM in the NHL besides maybe Jay Feaster

Nash's list of teams will grow even smaller come summer time and Columbus gets less - thats my prediction

I think he wanted a better player than Dubinsky

I think he wanted a better player than Dubinsky

True but they're rebuilding. Dubinsky is young and looks like he has the talent to grow quite a bit. He certainly hasn't reached his ceiling. He's not having the best year though so his stock has dipped a little

The rest of the package is nearly equivalent to 4 first round picks.

Christian Thomas, was taken in the 2nd at 40th overall, but is actually a higher end prospect than the other two.
Tim Erixon was taken 23rd overall and is the Rangers best defensive prospect
J.T. Miller was taken 15th overall and is also a great prospect. Their 3rd best forward in that regard

They probably needed to include Chris Kreider who is their only forward prospect rated higher than those other two, but they also get a 1st this year. They will probably be drafting 1st overall or 2nd with their own pick, then they have LA's and then would have had this one. 3 first round picks would be nothing to sneeze at.

I understand the above guys are just "prospects" but Christian Thomas could step right into their lineup next year, the Rangers are just so deep at Winger that he didn't make it out of training camp - but he would have made it on a lot of teams in the NHL.

My point is that they will likely get less than that come July 1st. Mark my words

I was just busting your chops. Even though I don't think Gaustad's worth a first rounder I think all those additions are solid players.
