Damning article today, prompting Polian to call people like the author of the article "rats" in his post-game interview:

"rats", for telling the truth? Polian should shoulder a lot of the blame for the team quitting, sure, you lose a QB like a Manning, Rogers, Brady your team is going to suffer but at least win a game here and there. Sometimes people get ego problems like BB not hiring a D coordinator even when your team's D has sucked the last 2 years (dead last this year). I knew the Giants had a good shot when I saw there was 1:35 left on the clock, our D is that bad. Props to Eli though, he throws up just enough floaters to make you think he's a so-so QB but gets spot on when the games on the line. I cant see anyone beating GB this year, Rogers ability to complete passes after being flushed is just amazing IMO, tough, tough to defend against that..

The two West divisions are awful. With exception of the 49ers (who are probably playing above where they really are right now - although their record is surprisingly not from them ).

I think the key is that, the fact that as bad as Rivers has played this season, he's still the best QB should tell you something (Alex Smith is playing pretty good so far this year though). What's even more appalling is that if Miami goes back to playing like they did their first 7 games, and the Colts keep sucking as bad as they have, both divisions might miss out on really improving their QB situations (as I would expect that Luck and Barkley would be the 1st and 2nd picks).

Brady has looked out of sorts, blocking hasn't been great either. Give some credit to the G men, one hell of a catch by that tight end then the obvious PI call on Brown, I guess he was in because Chung came up lame and two starting linebackers were out. The Chad experiment is now the worst joke ever, he's always out of position or drops it, expect him to be cut and soon. If the Jets D can play like they did today the O doesn't need to be that great, winning 4 in a row hardly seems "doomed" to me..

While the D can't stop a nose bleed (really, that PI call was due to having sucky and an experienced D...that 1st PI call, all he had to do was turn his head), lots of it hangs on Brady. He has just been making poor decisions and forcing throws. I know he does not trust 85, but dam, he was open on the pick meant Gronk. It's the 2nd week i have seen this. Wide open, just give it to a receiver in traffic instead. Also, lots of Ochocinco's incompletations were actually Brady's fault. The last 85 incompletation was on Ochocinco though.

Well, the article implies that Bill's son, Chris, has been mainly responsible for the personnel decisions since 2007, when they started getting REALLY bad. Chris has no real qualifications other than Bill being his dad, and Bill is now circling the wagons to point fingers at anyone but him and Chris. Let's not forget, Bill was the one who just two short weeks ago, told the press that Caldwell was doing an "outstanding" job.

Also, I agree with you about Green Bay. The only one who can seriously challenge them, IMO, is the Saints. GB has some defensive weaknesses and a team with a good offense and a strong defense might challenge them.

Miami is better than people give them credit for, IMO. I think they're better than the Colts, Rams, Cards, Vikings, and Seahawks. I look for them to win next weekend (vs. the Skins) as well.

I really think Luck will come down to the Colts, Rams, and possibly the Cardinals. The Colts' best chance at a W is their next game (the Jags) and if they get totally destroyed there, I won't be surprised if we see some coaching changes over the bye week.

Patriots need to start by getting rid of the entire secondary. And Ochouseless.

How much are they paying this idiot? I don't think I saw him get so much as a finger on a single ball thrown his way. I guess its an improvement since I actually knew he was on the field this week. Usually he's so far out of position he doesn't show up on camera. He needs to be cut. It was ugly all over yesterday though. I guess the D was slightly less shit than usual? To bad they couldn't at least hold them to a field goal on that final drive. Bah

That was an embarassing game by the Steelers D. The only guy who was even trying was Harrison. I shutter to think what the score would have been if he hadn't come back for this game.

Also not sure why they didn't call the push-off on that last second touchdown.

I'm a Steeler fan and all I can say is the refs gave ravens that first touchdown. Although the real problem was not stopping 3rd downs. They really need Woodly back for pass rushing. First half seemed to have none at all. Also not sure what the coaches see in Gay. Any time there is a big first down it seems to always be his guy.

Polamalu was playing well he had some nice tackles in the back field. I just wish he get a few more INTs. They really missed Woodly.

Flacco was outstanding in the 4th last night and Baltimore defense came up huge. Great game, great to see roflburger get bounced.

Should be an exciting game tonight too, Bears vs. Eagles. Both teams fairly inconsistent this year but eagles are starting to roll. Never know with the bears tho because even when their offense sucks, their special teams (especially hester of course) and defense can still give them the advantage.

Before that push-off, he was definitely interfered with.

There were bad/missed calls all over the place. The refs kinda sucked last night.

I hope when they get Luck he demands a trade or he'll go play baseball... Hey wait.. didn't a Standford guy do that once?

You just want him to demand a trade to Denver, I bet. 😀

Luck would be a fool to demand a trade if given the chance to be mentored by Manning.

I don't get it. When they picked up Ochocinco and Haynesworth just before the start of the season, everyone was saying "oh boy the Patriots might actually get these guys to work out!" No, Bill Belichick isn't some wizard who can just turn lazy washed-up players into their old selves. At least they didn't give up much to get them - I don't know their salaries but they only gave up a 5th rounder for Fat Albert and a 5th and 6th for 8-5.

I think the biggest issue with Ocho is that everyone (the fans) was expecting Randy Moss. He is not Randy Moss. He is the type of guy who will burn you if you challenge him one on one, not the type to stretch the field. If anything, Ocho would be a better match for the Pittsburgh offense. NE's offense is too much about timing and I do not think Ocho has the grasp yet.
